Mind your head! I found this guesthouse on booking.com for my two-night stay in May, 2024, and it was pretty much perfect in every way. The house is nearly 300 years old and retains that 18th-century charm (and tiny doorways), but is fully modern where it counts. The location is great, right where Fore Street meets the Wharf, although that means it might not be your quietest option. The price was very reasonable, and although I never needed anything, the manager made herself available and reachable and was very friendly and welcoming. My room was The Hepworth, which would have been close quarters for more than one person but was appropriate for just myself. I loved the inviting ground floor sitting room with a tasteful little library and a topped-up shelf of fresh fruit and flapjacks. Clean and dainty, easy recommendation! read more
