This is a highly coveted place to stay when you work for Vermeer and visiting the factory and they're worth the hype! Very friendly service, amenities are nice and helpful, and a great place to stay in the downtown Dutch area. Their in house restaurant has great food!

Stayed the weekend in Pella at this hotel. Mixed thoughts overall. What I liked: -Location (close/walking distance to MANY things) -VIEW (stunning view from the room) -breakfast (delicious pastries and other items for breakfast) -clean and nice bathrooms in the lobby as well as clean lobby overall -hallways and main areas well maintained and labeled well What could be improved: -staff inconsistently at front table (often had to ring a bell to find someone) -parking was not great. You had to hope there was parking in the lot by the Police station or pay for parking underground. -we found some random hairs (not ours) when we arrived (one long stand in the bathroom and one by the outlet that a lamp was plugged into). -there was a large coffee stain on the comforter on my bed. Kind of gross but it didn't smell so I assumed there had been an attempt to clean it. Overall, a fine experience. For the price I am not positive I would stay again but I suppose it depends on my reason for visiting. Definitely had some areas for improvement but the positives were overall very strong compared to some weaker "cons". Easy to make improvements!

We had a wonderful stay at the Royal Amsterdam. The hotel is undergoing a remodel. We stayed on the second floor with the remodel was already completed. Our room was beautiful, modern yet traditional with white and gray touches. Paella was such a fun place to stay and the hotel was located in the center of town and overlooked a picturesque canal. I'm not sure if I'll ever return to Iowa but I'll definitely stay here again if I do! My friends were totally intrigued by the photos. I can't imagine staying anywhere else when this hotel is an option.

It was as if they pulled a Houdini on us or used some Hollywood magic. The exterior does not look as large as it does in person and also the hotel can use some paint. We walked in and I believe were greeted straight away by Andrew who was amazing and checked us in. I glanced to the right and saw the pool. The pool is not as large as the photos show it as and well they used a nice wide angle to make it look gigantic but in person, it's not as majestic. The rooms were clean and livable but the beds were very strange. The mattress was warped in a way that elevated your feet like a hospital bed. Maybe it's by design to lower blood flow after the long days of exploration. The breakfast was well mediocre and the coffee sucked but the location wise it's not a bad spot. It's very close to restaurants and shopping and within driving distance from downtown. I gave the hotel 3 stars just because the staff was amazing and the location but otherwise it would have been 1 star. To summarize do not select this hotel based on the photos.

So if you have even the slightest mobility issue request a ground level room. Toilet paper is thin and has a sand paper-like texture. Breakfast looked ok, but dining room is so tiny and crowded that it's a bit inaccessible if the hotel is busy. Let me say again though that the staff was fine. Everyone was attentive and seemed to care about doing a good job. They were doing the best they could with what they had.

What a fortunate turn of events for the four of us. Turns out that Pella is a very nice place to spend some time and our mini vacation was made doubly enjoyable by the extraordinary hospitality offered at The Cheesemaker's Inn. Rob and Kim have mastered the art of accommodation. Every need is satisfied. The rooms are exceptionally clean, tidy and well decorated. They provided a small but pleasant sitting room off the upstairs bedrooms where we could brew coffee or tea, snack on cookies, and help ourselves to refrigerated soft drinks while chatting or reading the paper. Breakfasts are something to look forward to at this inn. We have stayed at any number of B&B's and have generally been served a good meal from the kitchen. But Kim's skill in the kitchen is above par. Homemade bread? Yes. Garden herbs? Expect it. Fresh ingredients prepared and presented in a simple but elegant way? You bet. And best of all, their guest service is unpretentious and welcoming. It's as though you were neighbors from down the road or a relative from across town. Just a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

A review from my Dad, who stayed at the Links on Bos Landen January 30th, 2026…read more -- My wife and I had two rooms booked for the Bos Landen Hotel It was for January 30 and 31st and we came into the hotel deep into the night on January 30 anticipating a nice couple of days stay. To be specific, we absolutely rented from this hotel in advance given that they had a functioning pool and hot tub. We were surprised at approximately 11 o'clock at night when a nice gentleman Alex and the night manager woman had to explain to us that the pool and hot tub are BOTH not functioning. I mentioned that this is extremely disruptive given that we were coming specifically to their hotel for purposes of utilizing the pool during the 0° weather. I mentioned to her we probably would be canceling our tomorrow appointment and would expect some type of significant discount for the night we are staying. The Night shift manager was very cordial as was Alex, who sat beside her . She said she could not authorize any such discount but did say I'm sure they will significantly reduce your rates in the morning but you'll have to talk to the day manager tomorrow . And here's where the story gets unprofessionally nightmareish After eating breakfast and visiting with our family the next morning (Saturday), I approached the front desk to find a tall young 20ish blonde, "not so friendly kind of sassy gal" managing the front desk along with what was a very nice middle aged woman woman (that was very reasonable to talk with, but clearly didn't have authority to consider discounting our room). I had to break from the conversation with the tall young sassy one ASAP as it was disruptive and going absolutely nowhere in any positive direction - and asked her to please call her manager ; at which point she did. She then proceeded to hand me her phone and said my manager is on the line I said could you please put it on speakerphone, At which point she did To my surprise, apparently the senior manager of this hotel responded in a strong voice and said "what the hell is going on over there my father's been in the hospital with a heart attack and I'm want to know what the hell is going on" I paused before I spoke and I said I'm sorry for your family's hardship and that you're going through this with your father. And then, realizing that I was basically going to be dialoguing with a tall young sassy 20 year-old and a woman on the phone who is not prepared to have any type of reasonable conversation I said back in response to both " based on the way in which you are speaking on this phone I don't believe there's a healthy conversation to be had , so I'm leaving now" at which point I walked away And then I went back to my room to hang out and five minutes later our tall young sassy hotel clerk came knocking And she said "we charged your card and checked you out. my manager said you have to get out of this hotel , you have to leave now" of course this is ridiculous when you think about it because we had already paid because they quickly ran our card through the system to get their money And to my understanding, there was absolutely no discount whatsoever provided the client . So the question is, "is this the kind of folks that you would have running your hotel if you were elsewhere; hoping things were being managed correctly ?"

I really hate leaving terrible reviews, and whenever possible, I try to focus on the positives…read more However, there are times when the experience is just really bad, you feel like you've been taken advantage of and you want others be aware. The Links Bos Landen Hotel & Spa was such an experience. Surprising, I know, since it's in the Trademark by Wyndam Collection. First, I'll give some positives. The people in Iowa are SUPER nice. Pella is a wonderful town. The Sprint Car Hall of Fame in Knoxville is really well-done if you're into Sprint Car racing (sprintcarhof.com). Main Street Markt in Pella has great food and everything you need for an impromptu picnic (mainstreetmarkt.com). The Links Bos Landen is conveniently located to Pella and Knoxville. My husband and I recently stayed at the Links Bos Landen Hotel & Spa in Pella for the Knoxville Nationals Sprint Car Championship, and I am sorry to say, it was incredibly disappointing, especially given the hotel's claim of offering "Thoughtful Amenities & Service." This place fell far short of those expectations. To start, the smell of chlorine from the indoor pool permeated the hotel...from the lobby to our room, the burning smell of chlorine made my eyes red and burning the entire stay. Our room had no closet or even hooks to hang clothing, which is a basic hotel staple. When I brought this up to the front desk clerk immediately after check-in, the staff member--who admitted she was new--was unsure how to help. I asked if we could borrow a luggage cart to hang our clothes on, but she said there were only two and they couldn't be spared. The room itself was in poor condition and my assumption is the room was hastily prepared in anticipation of a sold-out, Knoxville National Championship week. The pleather couch was sticky, to which I was told it was likely due to the cleaner they use...of course that didn't make me feel any better and we simply choose not to sit on it. The window cranks were broken, making it impossible to open the windows for fresh air (to flush out the chlorine smell) or in case of an emergency. The bathroom fan was inoperable, with the knob missing altogether. The laminate wood flooring felt cold and gritty underfoot, and the wood trim around the refrigerator was missing. Speaking of the refrigerator, it only kept food moderately cold even though I cranked it up, leaving us concerned about the safety of storing food inside. There was no rhyme-or-reason why we had two ironing board holders randomly placed on different walls. Several cracks in the walls that were unprofessionally patched. And finally, the Wi-Fi was painfully slow, prompting us to default to our personal hotspots. On top of all that, I was informed that the hotel had been purchased last January, and there was actually no "spa" on the premises, despite the misleading name and advertising. If the hotel is undergoing a transition, it should not be billed as a Resort & Spa until it truly meets those standards. Motel and small, highly chlorinated Jacuzzi would better describe BOS Landing. As for the hotel's amenities, the "bar" is nothing more than an afterthought: some stools at a counter along with a tiny two-seat high-top table in the middle of the first-floor room corridor. The laundry room was dirty and poorly maintained, with an older washing machine and dryer, an over-flowing trash can, and no supplies available. Trash bags were stacked in a visible location off the first-floor hallway, adding to the overall sense of poor maintenance. Finally, several times during our visit, the "24 Hour Front Desk" was unattended, with a sign stating, "I am assisting another guest, will return shortly." One evening, my husband waited for quite some time, and finally left as no one ever returned. Overall, this hotel is a far cry from what it advertises, especially at the $300+ per night we paid (inflated due to demand the week we were there, normally it's in the $70-80 range). Had we been able to find another room in the area we would have relocated, but hence, the Knoxville Nationals are incredibly popular and rooms in the greater Knoxville/Pella regional were booked. If you're considering a stay here, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere until significant improvements are made.
