The tenderloin sandwich well executed with a seasoned crispy breading covering a pork loin slice pounded out to 1/4" thickness about twice the size of the bun. That's consistent with the standard in this area, first done by the Smith family of Smith's Restaurant now 5 or 6 miles South on Hwy 13. I took a road trip recently & noticed this Amish Trading Post & knew I had to stop & check it out. They had tons of hand crafted Amish furniture & other beautiful pieces as I entered. This is a quaint hidden treasure with everything from homemade jellies, jams & candy to honey, salsa, meat & so on... I purchased sturdy dish towels, handmade soaps, dry goods & other useful household products. One additional plus is there's a grill inside so the foodie in me had to try a cheeseburger & onion rings. I must say they were quite tasty...breakfast is also served for those early morning travelers. On the way out be sure to grab some homemade pastries & ice cream (the zucchini bread is delightful). Kudos to staff that made me feel like they were glad I stopped in. I enjoyed the visit & it was worth my time so if you're ever traveling along Mo 13 toward Clinton, Missouri don't hesitate to pull on in! read more

I stopped here because of the road sign which advertised an Amish bakery and Amish baked goods are the bomb! Unfortunately the bomb dropped was on me. When I walked in I found that there were no Amish baked goods to speak of. There were a few things available, but the selection was poor, and mostly it just looked like a regular convenience store and not very special at that. Not exactly Amishy if you know what I mean. They do sell burgers and ice cream which would be good for the kids I guess, but I left feeling like I had been tricked. I was very sad. read more

This place is a delight. We went for breakfast and to look around at the Amish goods. The furniture is gorgeous, very tempting to take home. We were greeted by a local and asked if this was the place to have breakfast. He opened the door and welcomed us inside with a big smile on his face, "You have come to the right place, this is the best breakfast in town!" We looked around trying to figure out if we should sit to order or step up to the counter. A gal at the counter called us up to order, and since we weren't sure what we wanted, she gave us the run down on what to do. A patron behind us said, "The breakfast burrito here is FANTASTIC!" I quickly said, "Breakfast Burrito and biggest iced tea I can get." My husband ordered eggs, bacon and hash browns. We filled our drinks and wandered through the all of the Amish delights to the tables where a few folks were discussing when the mob came to Kansas City. They were a fun group to eavesdrop on. We waited a little while and then our food was delivered to our table. At first glance, it looked like a basic diner like breakfast, but once we dug in, we were blown away at the tasty food in front of us. Hands down, this was the best breakfast burrito I have ever had. The potatoes were perfectly crisped, the eggs fluffy with a hint of butter. I added some hot sauce to my burrito and dug in. We made short work of our breakfast and then shopped a bit for some tasty treats to take back to our cabin in the woods. I am really looking forward to making a charcuterie board this evening with my beautiful new wooden cutting board. We may even return for a burger tomorrow. read more

We stopped here on the way into Branson and we are so glad we did! We were hungry for breakfast so my sister decided to order one of their breakfast burritos. Myself + the others decided to just wait until we got into town tog et something to eat. Ok, holy moly. Best breakfast burrito we have ever had!!! Our sister let us try a bite of hers and all of us ended up going back inside to order our own. We loved this place so much that we actually stopped on the way home to get some of their lunch. This place has delicious homemade food. My husband and I both had burgers. He had onion rings and I had fried mushrooms. Reasonably priced, our dinner was about $28. Everything was fresh and hot. This is the cutest, and most eccentric gas station/Grill/Amish bulk store that I've ever seen. The only thing that comes close to it is an Amish bulkstore/restaurant in Lamoni, Iowa. Except they do not have a gas station. My husband likes the chief burger, and I've tried different things on the menu. I tried their fried cauliflower, fried mushrooms, and jalapeño poppers. They were all excellent. Their wings were every bit as good as Buffalo wild wings. The salad was probably a three star salad, but it was fresh and tasty. If I had to write all the restaurants in the area it's a close second to Sugar Foot Bbq down the road. read more
