On the positive side, their pricing structure is competitive to other practices I researched, and the staff is consistently friendly, responsive, and supportive. The overall customer service experience has been excellent--they are attentive, easy to work with, and the doctor weekly post-ops for 4 weeks because my case has become one reflecting on her professional quality. The issue my rating is lowered due to the surgical outcomes. Despite the doctor is double board-certified surgeon with what I believed to be extensive experience in cosmetic surgery and open revision rhinoplasty, I ended up with an approximately one-inch visible cutting scar across my nose, right in the middle of my face!! The procedures took 9 hours which indicates some challenges she was facing. I also learned later that a cosmetic surgeon is not equivalent to a plastic surgeon. Her sutures are rough and uneven, causing bruises and prominent scar at post-ops. Although she offered free micro-needling treatments, the accidental scar should NOT happen to begin with a DOUBLE boards certified professional!! Additionally, with lower and upper eyelid blepharoplasty, the eyelids resulted in asymmetry, one big and one small eyes. The lower eyelid incisions were not drawn equally and results in an ectropion - lower eyelid sagging appearance in my right eye. At six weeks post-op, I am still trying to understand and process these results. Prior to committing, I asked to review pictures of her patients had reviewed, of course I did not see any example of this complication & outcome. That said, I did sign a waiver that mentioned such risks, which in hindsight suggests the professional quality. Also, any corrective surgery will be extra cost. In my case of lower eyelid correction, an out-patient procedure can be done with local anesthetic to tighten the lower lid tarsal plate of which she would not perform. Also, she has vetted ownership with the Cy-Fair Surgery Center. That said, she would not do any out-patient corrective procedure unless it requires a general anesthetics at Cy-Fair facilities which will cost higher. To the surgeon's credit, she has been kind, communicative, and willing to monitor my condition closely. She offered to provide 3 free micro needling sessions "on the scar" for me. However, for the sagging eyelid, to my surprise, she told me to massage and tape the lower eyelid for an experiment up to six months to see if things improve naturally, which is difficult given the current appearance and impact on my daily life. Overall, while the service and care have been strong, the surgical results have been disappointing so far. I hope for improvement over time as well as seeking correction from other doctors and scars specialists. The bottom line should be known that her certified cosmetic surgeon skills are less than standard. So at this stage, I feel a 1-star rating is a fair reflection of the damages and concerns

Four days post-op, my upper arms already look amazing. However, the orders for palliative care prior to IV insertion before surgery were not honored by one ancillary healthcare professional. I endured a great deal of traumatic treatment including an alleged serious break in the chain of care along with false hyperbolic accusations against me that were personally insulting and absolutely unwarranted. I was not a problem patient. I was a patient treated like a problem because I insisted on promised palliative IV care...meaning an injection of lidocaine prior to IV insertion. I was pain-shamed by one employee and by a doctor who upset me with twisted words then subsequently warned me about being upset before being put under anesthesia, an irony not lost on me. Additionally, I have a forceful involuntary fight or flight response to IV insertion albeit not to blood drawn. I do not determine which pain my body experiences as a threat. The startle response is absolutely as uncontrollable as it is dangerous. Forceful movement can cause the cannula to tear through tissue, muscle, vessel(s). I was told, "Most patients prefer one stick to two." As far as my startle response is concerned, if I don't feel the second stick, it's only one stick that is minimal by comparison to IV insertion without palliative care. The emphasis being on care. It was absent without a great deal of effort on my part. If Dr. Basu's practice had a patient advocate or ombudsman, this position could have prevented an unfortunate experience. There is no obvious venue in-house to deal with situations similar and ensuing aftermath. There is nothing other than complaints to each individual's respective governing boards left for me to report allegations of professional misconduct. Until Dr. Basu's practice adds a patient advocate giving voice to a patient's right to be seen, heard, felt, respected by his entire staff, patients like me, those who experience extreme involuntary startle responses to IV insertion will remain at risk. Whether most patients tolerate IV insertion without startle reactions is irrelevant. Leaving even one more patient pain-shamed, abandoned, humiliated, hyperventilating bereft of care is one patient too many.

Called to schedule a consult and there was a fee, 1st red flag ladies & gents. Many board certified surgeons offer free consultations for your procedures and those are usually your best bet. If they ask for a fee RUN. Towards the end of the consult I told him that I'd research other doctors before making my final decision. Dr Nikko in all arrogance stated that, "if you go some place else you'll be coming back to me to fix what they ruin." That joke was on me. I couldn't even go back to him to fix what he ruined. Bottomed out breast with hideous scars sitting on the lower pole not in the breast fold where they belong. Abdominal skin was pulled too far to the right and my stomach looked deformed at first look with my belly button and linea nigra pregnancy line both off center (bothers me to this day to look at it in the mirror.) My lower muscles came apart day one of surgery from me vomiting after anesthesia in which I warned them that I get very sick every time. The binder garment they give you is useless. I physically felt muscles ripping apart. All scars healed dark & thick. As a woman of color WITHOUT keloid skin, and also having multiple surgical procedures including 3 c sections, I have never in my life had such horrible scars! My c section scars were literally invisible. I am 5'1 with a short torso, imagine having low sitting boobs cause he over corrected my breast pocket and bragged about perfecting it every visit plus a thick, dark & high abdominoplasty scar. This man and his team apparently go in, hack you up, then send you packing before you can even ask a question. Before your money is handed over to them, they're the sweetest you'll ever meet but once you OVERPAY them & get botched you may as well move on with your life. Everytime I went for a follow up and spoke up about what I wasn't pleased with, he'd get cocky and show me before photos stating "you look better than before." Follow ups went left, I was always waiting in the waiting room for hours. One followup visit was canceled by phone the day befor stating that "he had to catch a plane." MY REVISION WAS CANCELED 3 TIMES: The initial revision was scheduled by the surgical coordinator for a month out, fast forward, she called me the day before surgery to reschedule since I originally wanted a later date but was told my only option was the date she gave me due to him opening his new office and being busy. Two more revisions were scheduled and canceled same day. The first one, I actually waited in the waiting room for 2 hours then waited in the back in a gown for another hour, after fasting for 12 hours, starving and feeling dizzy. NOBODY CHECKED ON ME. The clinic staff were having conversations amongst themselves and I was IGNORED until Dr Nikko finally came to ask me if I wanted water. My heart sunk. Second time I was called at 4am by the scheduling coordinator stating that my procedure needed to be rescheduled without reason. I was called after their buisness hours that same day with an explanation of a termite infestation. I mentally prepared myself for this, filled and paid for prescriptions, my mom was driving in from 5 hours away to help my husband with my kids not to mention him taking off time from work to care for me as well. The devastation was indescribable. It's taken me some time to speak on this because its very triggering. Major mental health battle for almost 2 years and if I can help another woman to not make the same mistake I did, I feel like I've done my part. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH AND DIG DEEP BEFORE YOU ALLOW ANYONE TO CUT ON YOUR BODY. Us women already go through enough. Pray and allow God to lead you on every decision you make. As for me, this part of my story is just another lesson learned.
