This school really is fantastic - the classes are small (around 16 people per year) which means that you get significant individual attention. You have group classes and one on one sessions which enables you progress throughout the course. Each term you work towards a show/production and everybody gets their chance to 'shine' and showcase their talent. This course isn't for the faint hearted. Industry professionals regularly come in to take performance classes and will be brutally honest. The teachers have all also worked extensively in the industry and will know what cuts it and what doesn't. You work extremely hard but it is an immensely enjoyable course and you leave as well prepared as you could be to enter the industry. LSMT teaches you that it takes a lot more than jumping off taxis and belting out the word 'Fame' to become successful in Musical Theatre!

I find theatre a very liberating hobby, which allows me to express playfulness and creativity. Emilia is a great teacher with a lot of energy. She puts a lot of efforts into the school. Last term she wrote the script of a funny and fantasyful play and we did an open rehearsal in front of a small audience which went very well. Islad is also a place where you meet really interesting people from all over the world. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Both events exceeded my expectations: I was very impressed with the high standard of teaching and also with the artistic quality of the production. I am Portuguese, and, to be honest, I was amazed to find out what your accent can achieve in only 12 weeks of training. The class space is a charming theatre studio, a welcoming creative environment. The website is easy to use and the courses are very accessible (and cheap!), and you can design your own study plan and work at the same time. There's a friendly and international atmosphere, I met people literally from all over the world who are living in London or just passing. This is a really new way to improve your English, you don't even feel as if you were studying. I strongly recommended it to anyone interested in Language and in theatre.

The quality of faculty that I have interacted with has been very good, but I obviously cannot generalise that to all the faculty. Classrooms are large and spacious. Enough elevators, washrooms on alternate floors. A cute little cafeteria downstairs that serves good coffee. Will check out some pastries the next time I'm there. City lit is meant to focus on continuing education and they offer a huge range of vocational subjects too. I saw a lot of posters regarding counselling for jobs and courses, so they are concerned with skills that can be used to up your resume or make a job change. - massage, therapy, computers, languages etc But they also offer courses in drama, food, wine tasting and jewellery design.
