They had a special going for $20, three classes and a free pair of boxing gloves. The staff upon entering the facility are very helpful. You check in using there tablet when you walk in. Workouts start promptly at whatever time you come in for. It begins with a warmup for about 15min that kicks your butt. After the warm up I had hoped we were done haha. Being a newbie, the instructor was very helpful in showing me the moves and made sure I understood the routine. Overall, I left this place exhausted and sweaty but felt great and accomplished. Next time I'm in town I look forward to coming back using my next two sessions. Great workout, good time, and very rewarding!

But, I kept getting charged, even though I couldn't participate. I contacted the owner via email and he kept referencing their "policy" and refused to refund the money. After doing some research, this seems common practice for this business. It's a shame bc the people who work there are really cool. I would not recommend this business.

I…read moreattended boot camp classes in Park Ridge for a couple months prior (plus one in Vernon Hills), but this class still kicked my ass. I nearly died of exhaustion my first day and had to take a break because I was close to throwing up. I have slightly gotten better with the next few classes, but it's still very challenging. I always leave super sweaty and disgusting, just how it should be! I mainly attend the 6am class, and everyone there is friendly and supportive. I will say that I am probably the youngest one there and also the slowest one there... which actually is very motivating for me. I've only attended one night class, and the crowd there was very friendly as well. I like that the instructor, Larry, actually pays attention to the attendees and corrects form or tries to push you if need be. I've had instructors in the past that just casually run the class, regardless of how small the class size is. Some important notes to mention is that the class takes place at Libertyville Sports Complex, and you have access to the showers and locker room (bring your own towel and lock). This is big for those who do not live nearby, as I do not. I will also say that the locker room and showers are always very clean, which is a big plus for me. All in all, highly recommended!

Let me start by saying that Coach Kyle is one of the BEST striking coaches in the Chicagoland area. A successful retired professional kickboxer, he is legit and a GREAT coach. The classes are HARD, but you will have a blast and get addicted to them. From fighter to an average joe, you will have a place here and find your groove. You receive a lot of one on one attention which seems to be lacking with a lot of gyms these days. Coach Kyle is work with you any chance he can and truly cares about his students! The facilities are clean and well equipped and the prices are VERY fair. Go try a class and I GUARANTEE you will enjoy it.

She changes up her flow and class every week, so you are consistently working different areas of the body. I took yoga classes at random and used to feel it a slow boring waste of time more or less a relaxing class that does "stretching". I love to lift and do intense endurance cardio. It wasn't until going here consistently that I was blown away with the fitness aspect of yoga- the strength/flexibility/core stability/etc. involved. You will be challenged more than you possibly think and I promise the health benefits, both mentally and physically, will surprise you! I highly recommend Melt and the classes here. Everyone always goes out of their way to talk with new members and make them feel welcome, and over time I've developed several great friendships. Jeff, Chuck, and Justin go out of their way to make Muay Thai and BJJ as accessible as possible. It's a community-oriented, family-friendly environment. I see lots of parents come for kids' classes, then stick around to train themselves. As a woman and a beginner, I usually prefer training with other women, and no one has ever pressured me to work with someone I'm not comfortable with. There are almost always great women to train with, and as I've gotten more comfortable training with men, I've had great experiences with them, too. I live pretty far away, and the coaches are also very understanding that I can only come once or twice a week. Since some members are there almost every day to prep for competitions, even people who are more self-defense oriented (like me) have the opportunity to experience more intense sparring if they want it. If you've ever considered learning Muay Thai or BJJ, or just want to learn to defend yourself, Curran is a great place to do it, regardless of age. You can take it at your own pace and will feel encouraged, not pressured, to aim higher. The coaches care about ensuring you can protect yourself, so if you stick with the program, you'll know you're being prepared with solid techniques. If I ever leave the area, it'll be one of the places I miss most!
