You have to stumble upon this discount while trying to navigate their website and then only if you mention it to the cashier do they acknowledge it. I was appalled at this, it's hard enough for seniors to survive on fixed incomes with the Liberal carbon tax sucking us dry, but for large companies like Michaels to have this kind of slimy business dealings leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It is bad enough they are replacing staff with do it yourself machines that are hard to navigate, not to mention taking a job away from someone, but they have a "discount" but fail to inform anyone, is this to get corporate tax breaks or attaboys while really not helping anyone? Shame on you Michaels, you have lost this senior and hopefully many more!

I bought an original acrylic on canvas in 2022 from an artist I have known since 1976. It was a 40"…read morex 40" painting on a 2" x 2" pine stretcher, a standard he had been using for decades. I showed it to Craig at Kay's Place who gave me several frame moulding options. He gave me a price and I left the painting. Then without my consent, he removed the canvas painting from the artists wood stretcher and re-stretched it on a narrower 1" x 2" stretcher. I didn't know about this until he called and said it was ready. I came and picked it up, then hung this on the wall. The following day, a ripple in the canvas could be seen in the upper right corner. I returned with the painting a day later and asked that he fix the problem. I got it back a few days later, and soon after, the ripples returned on both sides now. More than a year later, I still see rippled canvas from a poor framing job.

Then I found the Ultimate Sewing place. Even though it was closed because Covid hours, they opened the door for me and the owner in 10 minutes had the machine working perfectly. I was amazed. When I wanted to pay, Shirly said: "Pass this forward". That meant I should do the same for somebody else. We are thrilled that are other people in our retail business that have a conscience and think about others. I will become a client!

The store had a number of vinyl figurines. I recently started collecting a few. Added to my collection of Ernie, Bert, and Groot is BMO. He is from Adventure Time. I have various mugs of this fine character. My watchface sports a happy BMO, too. Anyway, it was the only BMO vinyl figure there. I had to snatch it up. The store was pretty busy for a Saturday. I purchased a $100 item last Saturday, but the person I bought it for already had it, so I went to return it. This was the first chance I had to return it as the person it was for lives out of town so I brought it there this Saturday. Today I was told in the store I can't return it, exchange it, or get a store credit because it's been over 7 days. Why 7 days? You still would have had my $100 if you exchanged it or gave a credit! Now instead, I will take my business and money elsewhere.
