I noticed the wood felt heavier than normal seasoned wood and decided to burn some. To my disbelief, it didn't burn! I reached out to Jesse and he defended that it had been kiln dried. So I checked the moisture content. 28 - 50 % moisture in several logs I tested. I checked it against what I had left from last year and it was at 6 - 8 % moisture. Needless to say, Jesse refused to accept the fact he delivered freshly split wood and denied it being "not seasoned" even after I showed him. Maybe he had an off day or maybe he thought his kiln was "on" when it was "off"? All I know is he wouldn't make it right, kept my money and refused to acknowledge he delivered green wood.

As a starter, and number 1 to me, there's good communication, he calls right back, sets a delivery time and let's you know he's coming. -The wood is good quality, honest sizing and at a fair price. No more surprises on somebody else's loose interpretation of what a truckload or 1/2 a cord really is. -His delivery method is about as good as you can get, a very unique and well engineered unloading process. He needs to patent it. My understanding is you can get what you need, fire pit wood or cooking/smoking wood, as he supplies cooking wood as well to restaurants here in town. I called Timber Tree Service and left a message and they called back within a couple of hours and scheduled an estimate for the next day. The price was more than reasonable so I gave them the go ahead. They said it would be the following week before they could do the work. The following Wednesday they called and said they would be at my home late Thursday morning. Sure enough they showed up around 11:00 am with a boom truck, a mulcher and another truck. The work was done to perfection, everything was cleaned up very well and the guys were super friendly. Enter Robert from Holly Springs with a brand new fancy trailer and beautiful seasoned hardwood, all perfectly split and cut to the same length. Delivery was within a week or so of my calling and right on time. There aren't many places around Raleigh to get cords of wood. Call Robert and stay warm--he's a nice guy, and his wood is perfect!
