Awesome dishes in a very cozy nautical-themed restaurant in Dresden! We were helped by a friendly…read morewaitress (Kristin?) who did her best even though we didn't speak much German at all. It all worked out great in the end!
We ordered the three-fish-fillet plate, the breaded sea plaice plate, a salad of mixed vegetables and a dessert of sea buckthorn creme brulee.
Everything was incredibly delicious, well plated and well executed! Lots of the ingredients were fairly unique and not stuff that one would commonly see in the US. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for good seafood in Dresden. In particular, they offer a number of high quality freshwater fish which are difficult to find in other places, like zander. Definitely do keep in mind that this place serves rather large portions (it's a good thing!) -- we finished everything but I was definitely really stuffed by the end.
The restaurant is easily reachable by tram and one good idea is to first take a walk around the Grand Garden in Dresden and then head to dinner at Schwindts.
We stayed even a little after closing (it took quite a bit of time to read and figure out the menu) and not once were they pushy about trying to get us to leave.
