So when the Chimes came along, rather than fighting the much more modern looking competitor it just slumped into defeat and now is a bit of a sad shadow of its former self. It retains some of the old stores from its hey day, but for the most part, the bigger stores are in the Chimes. But I still like it, it was important to my childhood but the days of going to the back corner for Zodiac Toys to see what Thundercats they had in is long gone. These days of goths started hanging out the front I don't think they would bother to pull out the newly installed raises flower beds so that they'd have to move on as there wouldn't be anything to lean against. These days they'd just be welcomed.

If you're into book posters, they also had over 10 classic novel cover posters which were quite awesome. They even had vintage and novelty thermoses and ice cube trays that formed the shape of boomboxes. They carry a few "Fred" items, which if you know the brand, are extremely fun and I'm always glad to see them in stores. When you walk into Present, you just want to buy…read more This charming litle store has whitewashed floors and is filled with sorts of gifts including these delicious little bath bombs that smell like chocolate for 2 pounds. Present also offers a nice range of mugs and glassware. I also saw this little gnome where you record a message and the gnome says it. It was 6.99. I had a good chat with the staff here about which bath bomb to buy and I ended up making the tough decision to buy a chocolate smelling striped one. The salesgirl helped me put in the plastic bag and tied it with a ribbon. This is a great gift shop. I can't wait to use my cocoa bomb!

Blue Turtle is a small, inexpensive gift store selling everything for pigs in skirts, to dog…read morestatues to tea cups. The prices here are really low ( a piggy bank for 2.99), a ceramic nearly life size dog for 15 pounds and I have often seen sales here. This store does great one of kind presents like ethnic jewelry, and unique vases.
