I am an artist in the Wiesbaden area. I drive to Frankfurt every couple of months to stock up on…read moresupplies. I love the selection in this store. My favorite supplies are always much cheaper at Bosner then at my small local art store or online. They also have free coffee in the book department upstairs. That said, I am changing my five-star rating to a one. I think the staff on the floor are really friendly and helpful. The store is always clean, and it is a pleasure to shop. The downside is checking out. I have only ever been checked out by one woman... and she is miserable. She is the lady with gray and pink hair. She only works the checkout, so you can't avoid her. Every experience at checkout has been bad, but I always thought she was just having a bad day, but after a year, it is more than just a bad day. Today I got all the items I needed to included many Copic markers. A lady working in that department saw me and gave me a complimentary storage case. She said it was free as I was buying so many markers. I went to check out, and there was only one line available. First, she was angry that I had a VAT form. Then she looked at the case that the girl gave me, and told me I could not have it, as I didn't buy enough. She took it and threw it on the other side of the counter. I then tried to explain that the girl the department gave it to me and, she then said she didn't know English. (These storage containers are not an item that they sell, and I had bought 300 euros worth of merchandise.) When she was done checking me out, she gave me another dirty look, and said, "what else do you need?" I said nothing, and she literally took ten minutes getting me my receipt. I love this store... but it is not worth it anymore. As much as I enjoy this store, having to deal with this woman ruins the experience. I am going back to paying a little more, buying on-line, and not having to make the drive every couple of months.

Noord is a concept and design store in Frankfurt's Nordend and it is my favorite. They carry local designer's goods... including everything from posters to mugs to jewelry. I can't stand when people say "Ohhhhh that is an Instagram pretty place" (really, is your life that fake and contrived??), but Noord is an Instagram pretty place. But what it is most is local and a place that supports the small guys fighting in a sea of Ikeas and corporations. The service at Noord is attentive and knowledgeable about the products they sell. This means a lot for mindful buyers like myself. Definitely a must-visit in Frankfurt for those loving design and getting behind the concept itself and supporting the local and small guys.
