Freising (fry sing) is a small town, untouched by WW II. The town and hotel were used by American forces as a headquarters after WW II. It is charming, easy to walk around and full of decent stores, shops and restaurants. Cobbled stone streets and clean as can be. The hotel is, likewise, clean and sited right in the middle of the main street. Very convenient for your explorations. The staff speaks excellent English and has been very accommodating as to directions and recommendations. Breakfast is served in their own dining room and you can either use the buffet itself, or special order eggs and some other custom breakfast items. You will need to eat lunch and dinner in the town.

There are several dining and shopping establishments within walking distance. The staff members were very helpful and helped us with options to get quickly to the airport. Something that impressed me so much was that there was a group of folks that came in late from the airport that missed the dinner service. I've had involuntary layovers before but this was definitely one of those experiences that lightens the mood. Erik, his lovely family, and amazing staff run a surprisingly modern hotel in a small village just 30 minutes north of Munich. The restaurant was good and the staff and service were even better. Just be warned that there isn't really any walkable convenience stores nearby but they do have vending machines across the road for drinks beverages and more. However, they require German IDs so you will need to have to ask the friendly staff to get some for you.

The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms nice sized. The hotel restaurants are generally packed and noted for good food but we never ate there because family events made us eat elsewhere. Generally hotel food in Europe is much better than the US. This is typically a businessman hotel and does not really cater to tourists who are not German but the staff speaks perfect English and super friendly. We had to change rooms because the AC was not working and no problem they did so right away even though because hotel was sold out the night before they cleaned a room quickly so we could move over. Nice! Only two recommendations if visiting and that is avoid getting a room facing the front of the hotel because car noise seems not stop and why we moved rooms. The only down side of our room 421 was the Internet was slow to non-existent. I would paying a little more and get the category room called "businessman room"

I honestly don't think it is a walkable hotel from the airport for those who like to walk but I could be wrong in the summer? The hotel conveniently provides a shuttle for a fee. We used uber and it was about the same price. Anyway, the room was comfortable for the short stay. Their bar and food menu was great especially since we didn't have access to food nearby and didn't prepare ourselves. The staff was very kind and amazing especially when it was very chaotic as many people were being sent to the hotel when their flight was cancelled. Thank you for the hospitality!

A young,…read moreprofessional staff with fun stuff available: small pool table, foosball, ping-pong, and a well-stocked bar providing great German beer (weis, helles, pilsner), assorted bottled beers and liquors - all available 24 hrs as folks come in and out from the airport. The kitchen provides typical bar food and the morning breakfast is decent with cold cuts, various assortment of bread, cereal, muesli, fresh yogurt, scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage - the best part? The automated coffee makers which grinds the beans and provides everything from expresso, cappacino, latte, and Americano - I would press the expresso + Americano to make my coffee more robust. The property is very responsive and understanding - my flight was delayed for four hours and they allowed me to check out later normal. Plus: * Great service from great and professional staff * Received a "chip" for a free item from the bar - nice touch * Location - close to the airport, with a shuttle (although it costs E10 for a trip available every 30 minutes); travel to/from Munchen or elsewhere may be a bit of a challenge due to the location * Decent gym to maintain your workout * Comfortable beds + sheets + pillows Minus: * Rooms are small (reminded me of Japanese hotel rooms) o No closet or storage (drawers, shelves) o No refrigerator nor microwave in the room * Parking is a bit costly The Moxy property was good - for a short day or two, it would be perfect...not sure about a longer stay as it is a bit inconvenient if planning events or traveling to Munich.
