First visit - Wife & I stopped in on the way home the other night. Kind of a weird setting right next to a Salvo's, but hey, there was parking. When we walked in, all the tables were empty... not a good sign at 5:30pm. What the hell, we grab a seat, no wafting aroma's, etc that make me drool like a boar in rut season. bad sign #2.
Lookin at the menu - the dishes are numbered - good sign #1. Whenever I do a thai place for the first time, my "go to"dish is either the masamaan or the phad Thai. I went with the Massassaman (how the F(*K do ya spell that!). It's kinda hard to mess up those two dishes. Wife had the red curry duck. Prices for dinner was great, right about 16 - 19 per plate. total night I think was $41 (AUD), which you aussies know is cheap. People in the states - trust me on this.
The only whine I have about the masamaan was that the curry broth/soup/whatever ya call it was a little runny. THAT'S IT.
Wife said her curry was right on the mark, plenty of duck, it was just a little bit "tough".
This is our new "go to" Thai place. It's like a stock that's undervalued. If it goes down hill in future visits, I'll let you know.... but till then... get yourself over there & try the massaman. American size portions. ... you KNOW I like THAT.
