Don't let that detract you, though, as it was still a really nice place with lots of parking out of the front. The restaurant was also very large and could easily fit a large group in. We ordered the spring rolls and curry puffs for entree and the green curry and beef with garlic sauce for mains. It was all really decent food, though I would say that the coconut rice was not very coconutty (Is that a word?). For the two entrees, two mains, three beers and two soft drinks it came to $106, which isn't too bad for three people and we were all very full afterwards. However, instead of a great meal, we were greatly disappointed. For nearly $80, we were served chewy pork that was hard to cut or swallow, hard jasmine rice, burnt grilled prawns, and vegetables that were steamed instead of grilled. Additionally, we had to ask for utensils, as none were provided, and had to remind the inattentive waitress. Overall, we felt disrespected and will no longer recommend Thai Basement.
