This place has a great location right in the heart of Karlovy vary, close to many hotels,…read morerestaurants and the main shopping area. It is also a close walk to either bus station out of Karlovy vary. The pool itself is rather small and boring, only about four lanes and a bit crowded. The Saunas were in the locker room and were also small and crowded since they only fit 2-4 women at a time (and the ones in there are not concerned about getting out so you can have a turn). The prices are very affordable here, for an hour and a half of lap pool, dry sauna, wet sauna, whirlpool, showers and locker for 120 crowns. Where they get you is charging 80 crowns per person for a towel. And you are not allowed to reuse it if you make multiple trips here. I really only came here because I was already getting a facial done in the same building and wanted to see how nice the pool areas were. If you're looking to be impressed don't bother coming here!

To be completely honest this hotel feels like someone crammed all the must-haves of a 5 star hotel…read morewithout paying attention to design, condition, quality etc. All together, hotel has a large number of accommodations, spa, pool, medicinal procedures, however it feels more like a hospital than it does a hotel. The entire place feels run down and highly out of date. It felt like I was staying in an old soviet sanatorium rather than a nice hotel. In terms of food, it was mostly cold, and the choices in the buffet are quite bland. As for the positives, the gym was incredible. Fully accommodated fitness center no different to one that you pay much more money for. Very good deal for this one in my opinion. Overall, I'd only recommend this hotel for the gym, however it's open to visitors who aren't hotel guests for a small fee. (I stayed in Oct. 2024 and am writing this review a few months later so please consider this before taking my review into account)

Understand that I really like this place and want to see it do well. The rooms are huge, and while…read morenormally that isn't a complaint, you feel like the room is a missed opportunity which could be fixed by a mild upgrade. The service needs a slight overhaul in that the systems don't seem clear and the staff seem a little disjointed. The front desk staff could provide concierge level information in the absence of an actual concierge desk and easily direct the doorman on expectations regarding the car and parking. The valet service could be more direct on how the system will work so that the cars don't back up on the hill entrance to the hotel. And the pool attendant could be more helpful and learn only the needed english to be customer service friendly. Since she was combative, tons of patrons seemed lost rather than going to her. And if there is something that is stated to be offered in the room like a gift from one of the hotel's stores, then it should also be left at the desk for when they are closed. Because of the old world charm of the hotel and the truly huge advantage for upgrade to this off the path location, I hope they improve in some key areas which stands to make this a great place to visit.

I had an absolutely divine time at this hotel and spa. I spent 7 nights there, and had breakfast,…read morelunch and dinner for all 7 days, plus 21 "medical" treatments. It all came to about $1,300. This hotel has the most charming architecture, and the restaurant is not gourmet by any means but is definitely wholesome, healthy, and regional! Everything is made from scratch! Think nourishing borscht, hearty wheat breads studded with seeds and nuts, meat and dumplings in gravy, homemade kefir, and Central European-type salads incorporating root vegetables. On the top floor they have a medical clinic, which was always bustling -- guests show up in their (provided) robes and slippers, and get Balneology treatments such as pneumoacupuncture, Parafango, oxygen, and this thing where they wrap your body in a large plastic bag and inflate it with carbon dioxide. Downstairs they have a so-called day spa but it is not the best -- there is no jacuzzi, but there is a sauna, steam room, Kneipp path, and salt room. Of course you have to explore every inch of Karlovy Vary to imbibe all its salubrious qualities and this spot is your PERFECT home base.
