When the dishes are ready to be served, the cooks just let them on the counter and announce the name of the dish, but as I don't understand German and they didn't speak English, it was a bit confusing with the other clients. The toilets were a bit dirty, but the rest of the restaurant was quite clean.

Bok Lieferservice is a great little asian takeaway and delivery service in the Schanze area of…read moreHamburg. I used to live next door to this place, and so rather than phoning them I'd simply walk in. The wait for food is about 5-10 minutes. Now that I live a 10 minute walk away I've just ordered my first delivery meal. Unfortunately the meal that I chose was under the EUR6.50 delivery minimum, so I was offered extra cashew nuts (or something) to make up the difference. Well I'm still actually waiting for my food this evening, so I'm writing this review! I've had food from there numerous times though, so I feel pretty safe in my 4 star rating. It's not gourmet, it's just decent, handy asian food.

The service (especially if you call in) hasn't changed but the quality of dishes served just sucks nowadays. I've ordered a chicken dish with peanuts and some duckish dish (don't remember it exactly). While I didn't like duck that much I really like chicken and have been heavily disappointed to only find about 4-5 pieces of meat on my entire dish! Most of it was cheap vegetables like white cabbage ... so I very politely inquired with the staff if they could serve me just some more (the duck dish was loaden with meat) chicken because I deemed this inappropriate. The service guy totally agreed and talked to two other people on site and finally with his boss who denied me any replacement stating the amount of chicken is satisfactory to him and if I am not satisfied I am free to go elsewhere ... So this is an absolute NO GO for me and I will not go there for a very long time.

I was curious because I saw these places all over Hamburg and I love Asian fusion!…read more I have to wait 30 minutes to get my food. Also, I probably have a different working definition of what Asian fusion is...I ordered a vegetarian curry.... It said it came with tofu, but I couldnt really find any on the plate. Plus for an "imbiss" this place took forever. But I have to admit, the vegetables were fresh and I liked how they had sauces out on the table. I ordered spicy and although it wasn't spicy enough, I could pile on as much Siracha and chilis as I wanted. (People started to stare.) Everything here is gluten free so I guess that is great if you have food allergies. But really, the majority of asian food just tends to be gluten free in general. No surprise there. This place seemed pretty popular. It was hard to find a seat and I don't really know why. They have locations all over the city and are open late, so it is pretty convenient. Foodwise, it is just like any other semi-palatable Asian place.
