My household has experienced an ongoing and unacceptable failure of service from Waste Management,…read moredespite repeated communications and assurances. We were notified that trash pickup would not occur on January 1st due to the holiday and would instead be collected the following day. That rescheduled pickup did not occur. After calling customer service on Monday, I was assured that a driver would come that day no pickup occurred. On Tuesday, I called again and was explicitly guaranteed that service would be completed before the end of the day. Around 6:00 PM, we received an automated message stating there was a delay but that pickup would occur on Wednesday. Once again, no pickup occurred. At this point, Waste Management has failed to collect our household trash for over two weeks, despite multiple calls, multiple guarantees, and automated confirmations that were not honored. Our bin is now excessively full, creating a sanitation and health concern. When I raised this issue with customer support, I was told that if I placed any additional bags outside the bin, they would not be collected, and the bin itself might not be dumped. This response is unacceptable given that the overflow is a direct result of Waste Management's repeated failure to provide the service we pay for. This situation reflects a serious lack of accountability, reliability, and basic customer service. Waste Management is contracted to prevent sanitation issues, yet their inaction has directly caused one. The repeated false assurances, lack of follow-through, and refusal to offer a reasonable resolution demonstrate systemic service failure. No customer should have to repeatedly chase a paid sanitation service or be penalized for a company's failure to perform its obligations.
