Love Thacker's! The staff is wonderful. I always get lovely results. 10/10, highly reccomend getting your film developed with them.

As someone getting deeper into film photography, finding a reliable local lab was important--and Thacker Film Lab has been a solid option in the East Fort Lauderdale area. From the start, customer service stood out. The person at the counter was friendly, helpful, and made the process easy, especially if you're newer to shooting film and still figuring out what services you need. Pricing felt reasonable, which is always appreciated when you're regularly developing rolls. A big plus for me is that they also sell film on-site, making it convenient to drop off one roll and pick up another without having to make a separate stop. Turnaround time has generally been a couple of days, which feels fair, and they offer multiple options for receiving your images--prints, digital files, and negatives--so there's flexibility depending on how you want your work delivered. The only minor drawback for me was that digital file access runs through an app that requires membership access. Not ideal, but understandable given how many labs now manage delivery digitally. Overall, between the service, pricing, convenience, and location, they check a lot of boxes. For anyone in the East Fort Lauderdale area looking for a dependable film lab, this is definitely a place worth checking out. read more

I found some used 126 b/w film canisters and no one had the ability anymore to develop and print them - except Thackers. For a very reasonable cost, they developed and emailed me seven rolls of film from my childhood and early teen years, making them roughly 65 years old. What a hoot! Thanks, you guys, for ding what no one else would or could. read more

I discovered Thacker's Film Lab on TikTok 2 years ago and I've been a faithful customer since. I ship my film for development + scanning from California, that's how much I love Thacker's. It's a bit pricey for me to do so but I honestly have no desire to go elsewhere. My film is always scanned to me in less than four days and the quality is consistently amazing. The staff are also very kind! I've recommended Thacker's to a few friends and they also have great experiences. I highly recommend Thacker's if you're looking for a film lab. read more

My heart is so happy. I started a roll of film in February 2023, with a secondhand camera from Poshmark. I captured family and friends for a year not even knowing what would develop. Talk about faith! I dropped my film off on a Saturday and got the images via weTransfer the next day. I started my second roll of film and I'm so excited to bring it back to Thacker's Film Lab when it's complete. The prices were great and I've started referring other people. read more

Love this film lab! I've gone to them for a little over a year now and have never had any issues. Everyone I've interacted with that works there is awesome. I receive my scans back with very reasonable timing, anywhere from one to four days typically (for color 35mm) depending on how busy they are. The first time I went, the storefront was a bit hard for me to find as its definitely in an industrial area. The outside of the building is a peachy tone, and the store name is on a small film Dropbox on the wall. Took me looking at google maps street view to be able to find it. After hours film drop available outside of hours/weekends. read more

Super nice group of folks that are always willing to help out with questions and problems. They do their best to get your film back to you asap and the communication is great. The owner is very nice and has helped me multiple times with my questions and concerns. They generally have color and black and white film available for purchase. I have no reason to go anywhere but here for film and development The place is a little hidden but you'll find it. read more

i always send my film here and they get it back so fast. helps that i'm located in florida! 10/10

Stop debating, use Thacker's. They're fast to scan, deliver, and ship back negatives. I'm absolutely mind blown at how good they are. I've tried the *other* spot in Palm Beach County, and some online, and no one has even come close to the quality that Thacker's has. Not only are these the best scans (with great tint correction) I've ever received, but the team works FAST and is so helpful. Mel on the team noticed I had hair in my camera and even gave helpful hints on how to fix that. Check my past reviews to see how the other guys just get it wrong and simultaneously blame it on you. Trust Thacker's, use them, you won't be disappointed. read more

What a wonder find!! I had a film in my mother's camera that was at least 40 years old. Melissa was so kind, helpful and knowledgable. I got the results in a couple of days and they were careful to send the film spool back that was part of the old camera. I highly recommend Thacker's! read more

Thackers Film Lab is honestly the best lab I've done work with across multiple states (New York and LA included). The price to develop & scan 4 rolls of film was so much lower than I'm used to that I was shocked, and then to top it off they took less than 24 hours to do so flawlessly. I didn't have a single issue, and the person that helped me at the front desk was very easy to work with. read more

Absolute go-to place to develop my film! Have been going for at least 2 years now. The staff is so helpful with any questions I have and their turn around time for digital copies is quicker than any other place I've heard of. The location is a bit hard to find on your first try since there's a bunch of warehouses on the street. Look for the dropbox on the front and then there's a doorbell to ring to go inside. read more

Had a film camera from Walgreens that I needed to develop and was recommended this joint. Ever since then I've not looked to get my film developed anywhere else. Their process is simple, print out form + ship it out , pay online using square space. After shipping it, it takes around as little as 2 days to get the digital files turn around. Quality is high even at standard level, but I like to get high res for personal preference. Will continue to be using thackers, thank you! Some photos developed below: read more

I found Thacker's last summer when I was obsessively searching for Santa Color 100 film after seeing it on YouTube. My first order was 4-5 rolls of SC100 at about $15 per roll and one of them got damaged in the mail. I brought it to my local camera shop and they said it couldn't be saved. I reached out to Thacker's via email to ask for help and didn't hear back for a couple weeks so I figured, what happens during delivery wasn't their fault - I'm just gonna buy more because I loved the film! They ended up reaching back out to me through a phone call and were super apologetic about missing my email and offered to send me a brand new one free of any charge. This shop and the employees seem extremely genuine and kind and just wanna give film the attention it deserves. I live in southern California and will forever only purchase this film stock from them. They deserve all your business!! read more

Talk about customer service!!! If I could put more stars, I would. My sister from Massachusetts found Thacker Lab in Ft Lauderdale online for me. I called, and they said to come right over. Finding them was tricky because there was so much construction in that area. I had a picture on my phone that I needed enlarged. I told her my friend had passed two days ago and it was the best picture I could find. She made me six copies of others' photos that were nice. When I went to pay, Melissa said there was no charge. I just about lost it. She was my angel today, and please don't hesitate to look them up. I am so grateful to them and for them. read more

Great small, local business that feeds the void in South Florida for film services. They have a great variety of film and develop C41, BW and, E6. Scans are high quality. Mike and Melissa know all about film and are really helpful! Plus they just moved closer to me from Delray to Fort Lauderdale. Give them a ring! read more

The best in Broward, highly recommend. Great people and great service, super quick and easy turn-around.

I was desperate for film development living in Miami and the turn around time at those other shops range from a week to two weeks plus the prices were outrageous. I found Thacker's through a friend of mine and ever since then I don't take my film anywhere else. Mike and Mel helped me get all my film rolls developed within a day and they had fair prices and with a variety of films and cameras for sale! 10/10 would recommend! read more

Today I went to pick up 2 rolls that I dropped off on December 22nd 2021, Melissa received my rolls and told me it was a little hard for them to develop the film before Christmas. They reopen on January 5th... so, ok... on January 7th I called to ask if the negatives were ready because I didn't receive the scans by email. The guy, very kindly, said they were sorry about it, they just got it done and he sent me the pictures. I told him I was traveling and let him know that I'll pick up the negatives when I come back. Today, February 7th I went to ask for my negatives and a lady told me that "their policy" says they will dump unclaimed negatives after a month. I told her... what policy??? ... Let me explain to you what a policy is: Written contract or agreement. (Google it). 1st, there's nowhere any written contract signed for me accepting your condition. Even, there's some policy which doesn't need to be signed, as the signs that you see in some places (Ex. when you see in a restaurant "only take out" or, "only cash"). You have to accept it, is written in a visible spot of the commerce. You don't have any policy. Written, visible, or even explained at the reception of negatives rolls, you even don't give a receipt with any "policy". Which means money, hard work and responsibility. Sadly, this is not the first time that something like this happened, the last time they swapped my rolls with the one of another customer. I was giving a second chance thinking the first time was just a mistake. So... who needs to understand something in here? Me or thackers? If you say that it passed a month with any new from me, I can even tell you I dropped off the rolls on dec 22nd, it was developed on January 7th, today is February 7th. I'm impressed with the efficiency of your dump "policy". From now I'm sure that they gonna buy a huge sign with this "policy". And as I told her when I was leaving "you're too far to be a serious enterprise". I'm a photographer since more than 25 years. This is the very first time this happened to me in any film lab in any spot of the world. read more
