A few cowokers and I decided to have lunch at Thämer's today, mainly because they're offering outdoor seating and today's one of those rare sunny days in Hamburg!
The restaurant is situated in nice part of the city, with a number of trees and a small park adjacent to it. When we arrived shortly after noon, the place was already packed, but the service nonetheless took our orders within a few minutes. The menu is short but sufficient for a quick bite, a few burgers, fish'n'chips, some salads.
I had the fish'n'chips (Backfisch mit Bratkartoffeln) and a soda for 10.40€. The size of the portion was ok, but unfortunately both the fish and the potatoes were really greasy. I usually expect Bratkartoffeln to come with pieces of bacon and onions, but the ones at Thämer's lacked both (although it makes them a good choice for vegetarians I suppose). read more
