My brother and sister in law and my self arrived here around 6:30pm 4/14/25 not knowing this location closes at 7:00pm , we figured we'd just be in and out turns out we found some merchandise that we liked and wanted to try on. Unfortunately the fitting rooms had just closed 5 minutes upon our arrival . But Mary was very kind and generous and actually let my self and sister into the fitting room to try on our merchandise . What used to be my favorite thrift store is now on the bottom and last resort to go store they've raised the prices, like if everything is brand new it's supposed to be reasonable prices after all everything is donated and its second hand like come on people some selections are decent if you're shopping in the baby section. The only time I would ever shop there now is when there is a holiday discount. Also, even at that, when there is more than normal business, you would think they would un lock and provide more shopping carts to their customers. My experience there today on Labor Day was horrible. I was unable to acquire a basket for my shopping needs. I was only able to buy what I could carry with my reusable bag! After I cashed out, I was then approached by an employee and was told that my reusable bag was not allowed in their store! " I then told her that because there were no baskets, I used my own bag to carry what I was purchasing, and she replied they're still not allowed and said Don't bring them next time. Went by there today looking for casual business attire for my daughter. Had a great variety of dress pants to choose from, grab several in different colors. Having said that, when we went to the fitting room they were closed. Asked if we needed a key they said she couldn't try them on. So I asked if I could return them if they didn't fit and she said all sales are final. They should at least have a sign posted at the entrance stating that before you go shopping. read more

SHAME ON YOU, YOU SHOULD TAKE CARE OF YOUR EMPLOYEES BETTER. I hate the fact that the employees are not able to shop on any of the days when there's a sale going on. We aren't allowed to partake in any of the big sales they have, so that means no 50% off or 75% off on holidays for us. When we are able to shop they only give us 30% off. That's ridiculous. You would think they would reward us for working hard, and we do work hard. We come in early, stay late, work overtime and these people don't want to acknowledge us. This thrift store makes over $65,000 A DAY in sales, and that's on an average day. I'm sorry but that's bullshit. Before I worked here I use to come in this store a lot to shop. I use to think that this must be an awesome place to work and it is. I absolutely LOVE working here but this corporation makes millions of dollars off free shit. They're basically sealing what other people throw away, this is DONATED to help people who can't afford to pay full price on things. The majority of the people who shop here are on a fixed income and they don't pay the employees a whole lot either and 30% off isn't a lot when you don't get paid alot especially when most of this shit costs them nothing because it's all donated. You should treat your employees better, it's not like we get paid a lot to be here but some of us put our our heart and soul into this job because that's all we have they should take better care of us. Some of us don't even have ways to get to work, alot of us have to take the bus or walk. That should tell you something about your employees. I can't afford to buy my kids new clothes and 30% isn't a lot when you don't make a lot. They're not losing any money over allowing us to shop here if anything we're giving you the money back that you pay us. Your employees deserve better from you. SHAME ON YOU. I went today and saw this dog crate for $60 !! So I looked online to compare prices and for the same exact crate they were selling it for $57 !!! Online Like seriously the one at the store was more then a brand new one online and it wasn't even in good shape the door was missing and it was beat up like how are they going to sell it for more ?!? Normally I love the Texas Thrift Store. Their locations are usually clean, usually warm, usually very customer friendly. Not this one. It was dirty, children running every where after several repeated announcements to keep the mean little ankle biters by your side. The electronics dept had an annoying whine overhead with lights flickering in the hallway heading to the bathrooms. Good thing I am not epileptic, I may have had a seizure. And, there is no paper in the stalls, as the afforementions ankle biters strewn it all over the floor. The clothes are not organized, not sized, not hung carefully, and there is damage to a lot of the clothes. Yes I know it is all used and donated, but really, why would you sell a shirt that has an obvious stain on it?? I am really upset to pay brand new prices for used clothing. I mean $20.00 for a used pull over fleece jacket. I can buy them brand new for less then that at most any store in town. What are they thinking??? This location really needs to get in line with the rest of them. It was a major disappointment at best. read more

These Texas Thrift Stores are about as good as it gets in San Antonio if you're looking for large, well-organized stores, that are kept in pretty decent condition. In addition to the above, every day is a different discount based on colored tags although there seems to be no rhyme or consistency to what color labels are used on what products... The staff always seems helpful if you can track one down. I will return to TTS looking for that unique find. read more

This is my favorite thrift store. It's not all bright and shiny like Goodwill, but it is organized a lot better. All thier clothes are organized by size so you can quickly go to the correct rack to do your searching. As a man in a clothing store I am used to not having a huge selection, however Texas Thrift has a great selection ranging from shorts to full on 2 piece suits. I lov the organization because that means I am in and out quickly. If Ali is with me they have a number of couches to relax on while her search is going on. Ladies, it's important to keep your man relaxed to keep his wallet open while on these shopping adventures! read more

The thrift store is misleading. They have many places outside for you to "donate" your clothes. In fact "donate" is written all over the place outside. In reality this is a for profit company and "donating" is just giving them their merchandise for free. They do have a couple of very small signs inside after checkout saying the are for profit. They take from the community but do not give in return. Additionally they are quite over priced (especially when you think about how they are getting their items). 120$ for a broken sewing machine? These Texas Thrift stores are huge and have big signs hanging from the ceiling that guide you to different locations like furniture, Toys, Bed and Bath etc.... I was looking for a couple of cabinets but didn't find any at this location.... however I discovered some vintage jewelry that was really cool and purchased some groovy light blue crystal dangly earrings for myself. Love it in Big TX. read more

Awful. They need to fire everyone and start over. Bathrooms have smelled like a back alley for years now. Store is disorganized and dirty. The worst is the customer "service" though, or lack thereof. I won't lie, you can get some great deals here. The "manager specials" can be amazing, like half off all furniture and electronics... I got a TV for my kid's room for $5! However, the employees are so awful that I won't go there anymore. Too many other options in town. I won't recount the specifics here but let's just say there have been more than one "run ins" with idiotic store clerks there who can barely string a sentence together. No thanks! I even mentioned this store to another location (same chain) and that employee had also heard how awful this store was, and urged me to write to the district manager about it That's pretty bad! read more

So this store has become my favorite thrift store. I forsook all the rest and am a faithful shopper at this location.

Prices are way too high for me, which is a shame because they do have some nice things. The only time I will really shop there is when they do the half off sales. They usually do them on every holiday. On those days, the prices are really what they should be all the time. Check the clothing very carefully though because they will sell clothes with stains on them. I mainly hit up the thrift stores for books but there prices on hardbacks are ridiculous. They have a lot of them priced at 6-8$ dollars. Most other thrift shops have them at 2$ max. The paperbacks and the kids books are cheap so I will give them that and they have a whole section of stuffed animals for 1$. My daughter always likes to look through them. read more
