My sister's medium boneless ribeye came out more rare than my medium rare and she finally had to settle for ribs! Which were actually edible. Biggest problem was the cutlery! The serrated steak knives were so dull and bent, you couldn't even cut a tender steak if you got one. If you can't even give your customers a decent knife, don't complain when they send back a steak. I give the manager credit for apologizing and doing what she could but Expats beware. If you're craving a good steak, save your $ and go to Wolfgang's. I understand that things are different here in the PI. I'm amazed that there is so much variety among restaurants. But it is not the fault of the locals when the restaurant company gives them cheap tools and products just to cut costs! Bad cooking is something else, though. A horrible experience at a Mesa restaurant actually made my wife go back in the kitchen and show the chef in training how to make adobo! Overall, I love the PI and the local cuisine. I think I'll stick to the chain restaurants that I know for certain are consistent.

We had really great service and our food was so delicious. I've never had corned beef hash in a croquette form and it was really good. We had Calamansi juice with our meals also.

We were served a pumpernickel bread that we could cut ourself since it was on a Woden board. The bread was not fresh. My friend ordered a risotto with beef. And I ordered the Outback special. A filet cooked like ordered but a tough for a filet and not really tasty. The coleslaw was nice but the mashed potatoes were lukewarm. The pepper sauce that was optional was delicious. My friend who eats rice regularly appreciated the risotto with beef on top. The beef again was not tender like it should have. The service was great. Since we were tired but mainly because the food did not reach our expectations, we did not order coffee and desert. Unfortunately I have to say that I would not come back if it is to eat a steak at this steak house.

The interiors are a bit dark, giving the place an intimate, romantic feel, despite the tables that can very well accommodate groups. We were first served pieces of their complimentary bread, and boy, it was good! The brown bread was delicious on it's own already, and even more so when their herbed butter is slathered onto it. It was good that our salad and steak arrived already, or else I would have gotten full just from the bread. Strip is one of the first few restaurants I've eaten at that serves food in wooden boards and theirs is just perfect because it has those canals around so that the juice doesn't spill-over onto the table. Anyway, our steak was just so very good! Tender and tasty, I didn't put any of the condiments onto it. It tasted of salt and black pepper, just the perfect basics of a good steak. One night, we passed by it and saw that we beat everyone out of their offices and got to the area early. We parked immediately and soaked the glory in for a bit before entering. I personally liked the feel of the place because it was casual but homey at the same time, without being cheesy. With statement posters adorning the walls and chalkboards advertising their specials, I knew I was going to like it here. We decided to share an order of their super duo which had ribs for two and a choice of two side dishes. I was happy to see that they offered spinach as a siding so I got that, while my dad ordered their spiced rice. Goodness gracious, it was good! The meat was tender, almost falling off the bone and their sauce is really good, a good balance of tangy, sweet and smokey flavor. While my Dad got their brewed iced tea, as drink and dessert, I got their chocolate shake which I enjoyed not just because of the taste, but also because of the candy sprinkles and marshmallow toppings. I wouldn't mind a good rub and ribs at Rub Ribs anytime soon.

The layout and offerings pretty much mirror what's offered in the US. The only unavailable item is the Cactus blossom (fried onion bloom). Instead, they offer onion frizzles as a substitute. A few things to mention. You will experience sticker shock due to the fact that: #1.) Steak is hard to come by in the Philippines (could be a cultural thing) and #2.) Expect the meat cuts to be rather thin. #3.) Drinks are not as boozy. My husband ordered a Raspberry Margarita and although it had great flavor, the booze was lacking. Flavor is definitely present but for the price Americans pay for steak versus the Philippines, there is a high premium.

After we placed our orders (1 salad + 2 entrees), peanuts were served while we waited for our orders. We had the Roadhouse Lite Salad (Php250, 5.35USD on the menu), a crisp salad mix tossed in red wine Dijon dressing topped with ripe mangoes, grapes, candied walnuts and blue cheese. For the 2 entrees, we had the Cheesesteak French Dip (Php325, 6.96USD on the menu) and the Wrangler's Pork Steak (Php420, 8.99USD on the menu). My favorite was the pork steak! The vibe is brighter, more modern, with an open bar and a lively energy that works perfectly for a Friday night. Service was excellent. Gab, the head waiter/manager, was outstanding, attentive, engaging, and genuinely warm. He checked in often without being intrusive, and the rest of the team matched his level of service. Food was just as impressive. We started with the Bourke Salad, fresh, crisp, and flavorful plus foie gras served with caramelized onions and pickles. The combination was rich, balanced, and absolutely delicious. The Creekside Steak was the star, perfectly cooked to medium, served in a cast-iron skillet with gravy, lettuce, a potato, and a side of mustard that gave the steak a perfect punch. Dessert was their famous sticky toffee pudding, and yes, it's worth the hype, rich, indulgent, and unforgettable.
