Flew to TX to visit family a few weeks ago. Coming from a big city to little Beaumont.... we found…read moreabsolutely NOTHING to do for entertainment. It was suggested that we go antiquing. SO very glad that came up in conversation. We shopped so much and bought enough to fill our suitcases full. One of the suitcases barely made the cutoff weight limit! While I didn't find anything in this location for myself, I did find a set of bookends that were Bellamy Eagles for a family member. Was likely the greatest find of the day. He was ecstatic to receive them. Just goes to show.... you can find treasures in a small town, too. The staff here was great! The desk clerk tried to help me hide my purchase from the family member that was with me that day... even wrapping it twice in a dark colored bag.... but it didn't work. He figured out what we were doing as soon as he came downstairs! Great shop with a LOT to choose from. So many toys from my childhood that brought back memories!!! Prices were definitely fair! Glad we stopped by!

Being DIY as it is, its location in Old Town is sort of fitting. It's pretty hipster, but that's not a bad thing when it's the only store of its kind in Beaumont. The mannequins always sport some inspired outfits. There's shoes, jewelry, hats, belts, bathing suits, (new) undergarments and men's stuff in addition to women's clothing. It is not incredibly cheap, but I guess it's not like Goodwill, where the selection was indiscriminately accepted from a public clothing dumpster. Expect to pay about the same for used and new. I found a new-with-tags Betsey Johnson bra for only $16 - great thing to have, and I think there were several.

Oddly, i filed the location of Silk Purse in the back of my mind with no real pull to stop in sometime. I think it was the name. Silk Purse=Fancy Girly. One bored Saturday, I was like, meh, may as well pop in just to see. What a pleasant surprise!! So organized and filled to the gills but not in an unshoppable way! The prices are very fair. I found the most unique vintage light kit on the porch. It's now hanging in my stairwell. The mother/daughter duo, which i have now met on separate occasions, were equally friendly and engaging. They have a good eye for rare finds....vintage, antique, and collectible. Really, something for everyone! Unless you are just impossible to please! 20-25 minutes from the heart of Beaumont (a guess on my part based on my whereabouts in Sour Lake). Let's do our share to support small local businesses!! This is one is an easy support, too!!

The selection is diverse, the prices amazing, the store beautifully organized and set up. The staff is always friendly. This isn't dumpster diving! It's a pleasant shopping experience with unique finds at great prices! It's a must go.

There were a bunch of vintage items that you don't typically see and also an assortment of everyday items that would look great in anyone's home! I personally really loved the metal signs because they would look awesome on my walls! The owners were so friendly and so helpful. They also will purchase any collectibles that you might have. Definitely come check them out! I will be back!
