Plenty of womens and kids clothing spanning the store when you first walk in, and the rest in the store to the right. Electronics, CDs, books, dress patterns, furniture, decorations, and whatever else comes in. I was so disappointed; I had visited treasure House a few years ago and picked up a record or two; I visited today, and they have no more records. They have cassettes and VCR tapes, but no records??? Wide selection of books, though, far more than TVs and computer equipment. I didn't look at the clothing, I was there for the records . . . Worth a stop in if you're looking for a dress, a book, a picture, or just to get out of the rain.

For the past few months, they have had a 1/2 off all clothing sale and they even have a $0.50 rack. On the right side, there are two rooms full of clothing and shoes, mostly womens, but also children's and mens. On the other side are collector and handmade items as well as books and a few toys/games. If you make it there before 11 AM, they also have a "bargain room" & "holiday room" open on the other side of the school building. The ONLY downside is that they rely on mostly donations, so inventory is a little slower than some of the other thrift stores in the area that receive more donations, but I still manage to visit at least once or twice a month and find some neat items! Most, if not all, the workers are volunteers and every one I have come in contact with are incredibly sweet. Many of them make quilts and handmade items that are put up for sale or raffle inside the store. Definitely worth checking out!

My mother used to sell Tiara and the ashtray, coincidentally, happened to be a gift to top tier salespeople. My Dad had the same ashtray on his upright tobacco ashtray stand. #memories The store is well-stocked, well-Organized, & well-staffed! Never did I think I'd enjoy antiquing but it has definitely become a fun family activity, especially in other states while vacationing.

Oddly, i filed the location of Silk Purse in the back of my mind with no real pull to stop in sometime. I think it was the name. Silk Purse=Fancy Girly. One bored Saturday, I was like, meh, may as well pop in just to see. What a pleasant surprise!! So organized and filled to the gills but not in an unshoppable way! The prices are very fair. I found the most unique vintage light kit on the porch. It's now hanging in my stairwell. The mother/daughter duo, which i have now met on separate occasions, were equally friendly and engaging. They have a good eye for rare finds....vintage, antique, and collectible. Really, something for everyone! Unless you are just impossible to please! 20-25 minutes from the heart of Beaumont (a guess on my part based on my whereabouts in Sour Lake). Let's do our share to support small local businesses!!
