At some point Texas Oncology needs to place a pause on accepting new patients in the El Paso, Texas area. Doctors, nurses and staff are overwhelmed, and it shows. Doctors are stretched thin, consequently overlooking and missing information that is pivotal to a cancer patient's survival. With the alarmingly high doctor to patient ratio, doctors don't have the time to carefully review a patient's history to make prudent decisions for the patient's short-term and long-term care. New patients can be directed to UMC, Texas Tech and WBAMC which have the staff and resources to attend to a large population of cancer patients.
