This was a nice campground to spend the night with decent prices (primitive camping in a lush green field for roughly $35), but what really stands out to me is the customer service. My car battery died and we were able to flag down one of the employees. He called his boss, who came right away to give us a jump start. While waiting, we were discussing our plans to go kayaking in Missouri and he offered some other recommendations for kayaking or tubing nearby. Although this was such a minor and quick interaction, it spoke volumes to me that someone came right away to assist us. Otherwise, the area was beautiful, clean, and well shaded. We enjoyed our stay here and will be rebooking for our return journey! They also offer camping with hookups, RV camping, and cabins. Amenities included a pool (which was clean and looked well maintained), a playground, and a very clean bathroom and laundry facility. They also had a museum of RV Art, which we may check out on the way back. All together, I recommend this campground for a short overnight stay or longer, extended trip. read more

​As a loyal customer of the KOA brand, I am writing to formally report a series of severe safety, sanitation, and management failures during my recent stay. This location is currently operating in a manner that severely damages the KOA reputation and, more importantly, poses a direct threat to guest safety. ​1. Employee Misconduct & Guest Safety Violations (Critical) ​The most alarming issue was the behavior of a female groundskeeper who lived in the site directly adjacent to mine. On multiple occasions, this employee returned to the campground visibly intoxicated or under the influence of illicit substances (exhibiting erratic behavior, "tweaking," talking to herself, and pacing). Having an employee in this state managing the grounds and living next to guests created a hostile and entirely unsafe environment. My group did not feel secure sleeping at this location. ​2. Severe Sanitation & Health Hazards ​The Pool: The pool had reportedly just reopened on Tuesday due to prior sanitation issues, but by Wednesday, it had turned completely green again. Operating a public pool with stagnant, contaminated water is a massive health code violation. ​Grounds Maintenance: The grass at our site was knee-high upon arrival and went unmowed for days. This is not just an aesthetic issue; it is a breeding ground for ticks, snakes, and pests, posing a health risk to guests and pets. ​3. Gross Mismanagement of Group Reservations ​We arrived with a coordinated group of approximately 8 campers. Despite booking together, our party was completely separated. We were placed at the very back of the campground surrounded by long-term residents, entirely defeating the purpose of a group KOA booking. ​Conclusion: I do not scare easily, but when paying guests are subjected to unsafe conditions caused directly by KOA staff, it crosses a line from "poor service" to "corporate liability." I expect a prompt response regarding how corporate intends to address these employee substance abuse issues and safety hazards read more

It used to be a really nice park but it has really gone downhill. Park allowed a child molester to move in without notifying park residents and allowed him to work at the pool next to the playground. My trash stopped being picked up regularly. The posted office hours are more of a guessing game. Guess if they're actually open or not. At one point, the park manager opened one of my personal packages. The grass is overgrown. I constantly had to fight an ant problem as well as the fleas in the overgrown grass. The pool stayed green more than it was open this year. There are feral cats everywhere that will tear up your RV. People wander in off the highway and where there used to be guys on staff for safety and security - the manager lives off site and those guys are no longer on staff. It got so bad my kids didn't feel safe allowing the grandkids to visit. read more

Our RV is now infested with ants from this campground. The camper in the site next to us was leaving when we first pulled in and told us about the ants. We didn't see any at the time, so unfortunately we stayed. The next morning, they were all over our RV. Now, they're everywhere, even in our medicine cabinet and shower. There was a review from several days ago about ants. I guess they're not going to do anything about it. Ridiculous. read more

Bathhouse dirty! Mold hair dust all over walls and shower curtains. No hand soap to wash hands . It's older place loud lots of homeless walking around no security on site no after hour help. Weeds growing up on all sites back of park is dark and gloomy. No lights outside was very unsafe and dog poop everywhere. Don't clean after campers leave cigarettes on ground. read more

Right off the highway, makes for an easy stop for the night. It was perfect for what we needed. Nice pull thru site. You do get the heavy traffic noise from the highway. Would stay again for a night but I would not personally choose it as a get away location. Older facilities but well maintained and cleaned. Check in process was all virtual and easy. read more

The KOA has wide paved roads. We had a nice pull thru spot for our 40ft 5th wheel. We didn't need to disconnect, which was nice since the low was about 33 degrees. . I'm not sure if I would stay here again. This park seems more like a place filled with pet any RV living in some of the camping spots. I didn't get a chance to look at the playground. But there were swing benches next to a lot Of the camping spots. I loved that. They were clean too. The WiFi connection works well. I also liked that it was easy to get to and right off the interstate. Perfect for a one night stay. read more

I didn't get a chance to go to this KOA because nobody ever called me back. I called a couple times and left a message the last time because the outgoing message said I would get a call back. I didn't. Based on that I assume the customer service is poor. We normally stay at KOAs. We ended up at Shady Pines in the same area, which was really nice. read more

A little road noise, but it's Texas, it's hot, and if you run your ac, you won't hear it inside. Plenty of food/fuel etc nearby. Great location for an overnight stay...I have no idea what attractions are nearby. Pull through spot was nice and shaded. The swing was a lovely touch! Pool onsite looked nice and clean. Well lit, with clean laundry and bathrooms. Well worth the money for the hospitality and shade. Other places nearby at same rate are essentially a gravel lot with not one tree, and no amenities! Highly recommended if you need a place to park in Texarkana. read more

Easy on and off. A small playground with sand for the kids. Laundry and bathroom. The nicest staff you could ever want. They were incredibly accommodating and helpful. Our back-in site was nicely shaded. Each pull in has it's own picnic table and porch swings are scattered throughout. Only complaint- the wifi reception was too poor to be of use. We didn't use the cable but the registration desk made it clear that it is often spotty as well. Digital antennae work well. Near restaurants and shopping. Great spot for rolling through. Traffic noise is moderate thanks to trees. read more

If you can find your way through the construction, this is a nice little KOA. Unfortunately the front desk closes early (7 pm) so make sure you get there in time. We didn't, and thus couldn't get more than 1 internet code (1 code per computer). That's a problem when you have 2 kids in tow. The bathrooms were okay, but not nice. They were, however, very big. Plenty of room. The men's room has no security code, but the women's room does. The pool was okay, but nothing particularly nice. The whole place was dirty, but not unclean. "Live in" is how my mom would describe it. That said: everyone there was nice as pie. We chatted with several of the guests, and the cabin we stayed in had a working air conditioner. This KOA is modest, and comes with a little kitsch (RV art gallery), but it's one of the best RV parks in the KOA system. It's convenient to I-30, and several restaurants are in walking distance. read more

The absolute worst rv park ever. Nasty management. Nothing in park like advertised. No cable as advertised. Sites not level or as long as advertised. Road noise atrocious. Had tp park vehicle in adjacent site due to lack of advertised space. Owner pounded on our door and demanded we move our vehicle immediately. Park was practically empty but he wanted to park another trailer next to our site for some reason. Very loud, rude, demanding and appearance was unbelievable. A very demeaning personality. Just off the highway, so expect to be able to hear cars all day and night. Excellent sites in terms of size. The staff was very friendly. There is a pool and a small area for kids. I really can't find anything outstanding to comment on, but at the same time I think this is the biggest site I've had in a while. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this KOA. Being so close to the highway makes it very convenient. It's very comfortable here. I'm only giving it three stars because it doesn't seem like a destination like some KOA's do. It seems more like a place you would stay as a layover or if you wanted to explore this area specifically. read more

Made a reservation 2 weeks in advance expecting our plans to stay on schedule. Life happens and we were not able to make it to Texarkana. Called to cancel 2 days prior to our arrival date and were charged a $10 cancellation fee. Lesson learned - don't make reservations so far in advance. read more

Pulled in without reservation, 26 ft truck camper, 2 adults/2 kids (8 & 9). Got a nice spot NC-08 on the inner street. Although off highway, wasn't too noisy but you knew you were off a highway. Staff very helpful and bathroom/showers clean. Did laundry and machines were clean and washed/dried well. Pool was enjoyable and kids could ride bikes safely around the area within the camp to go to bathroom, park, pool. Only down side - very little shade where we were. read more

It's actually surprising to go down a frontage road near the interstate and up pops a KOA. Unfortunately the location is a little ify since this KOA is nestled beside a creepy abandoned hotel and is saddled up next to a permanent trailer park. The trailer park didn't look trashy but it was close to the campgrounds and there was a lot of traffic in/out since they share an entrance/exit. The grounds themselves seemed well kept, just old. There's a separate, locked facility for restrooms and laundry. Bathrooms were clean. The main check in station is beside what appears to be the owner's mobile home. We didn't swim in the pool but it is fairly small. A short trail leads into a wooded area with a big pond. The bugs don't carry you away but you'll probably want repellent. We stayed here awhile back (just needed a one night stay on the road w/ pets) and although I wouldn't say this was great, I did appreciate an air conditioned cabin that was clean. No TV and WIFI didn't work but at the time there was no charge for pets and various discounts were available. read more
