We were anxious to get there since we started our trip at 7 pm and would not get there until 10 pm. We could only see that the park had very tall trees. The camp site had a pre marked area for your tent. We stayed in the camp site with electricity and water set up. The following morning we were mesmerized with the scenic views and grounds. The lake is large and beautiful. This agents were all friendly. We plan on coming back in summer to take advantage of the water activities.

Came here for 4 days and it wasn't long enough. Nothing bad at all to say about this SP. From the min you turn off the highway into the entrance you have that true SP nature feeling. Its just beautiful all the greenery. We stayed in Big Pine and loved it. We were able to ride bikes around the other loop and walk the nature trail to the swimming area. Plenty of space to spread out even with the day users. The store is on the small side but has all you would need. The park hosts are wonderful too. This park had the cleanest public restrooms I have ever seen! Props to those couples who go above and beyond. Seriously....there weren't even spider webs on the outside. We will be back as soon as possible! Also, visit the Mount Pleasant area. They have good restaurants and yummy desserts!

I booked my campsite at Daingerfield State Park a few months ago because this is a spot in Texas to see the leaves changing colors. It's hard to predict though when this will happen. The end of October was too early this year as more colors will probably show in I'd say 2 1/2 weeks. It was a pretty place and very well maintained, including the restrooms and showers. It felt like a great place for a church camp. I enjoyed camping here and liked the hikes too.

We stayed here this weekend and really had a great time. We loved the three bedroom cabin (cabin 1) and it was super affordable for all of the space. For $95 a night it seemed like a steal and it was easily spit with two couples. The bathroom was HUGE and in two of the rooms, there was plenty of room for an air mattress next to the double bed. In the kitchen, there was lots of cupboard space and a modern flat top stovetop. There was not an oven, but there was a fire pit and a grill outside. The cabin was supplied with bathroom towels and washcloths and bedding. There is also a table and chairs and a large refrigerator and freezer. However, you have to bring all your kitchen supplies (silverware, plates, etc). The lake was beautiful and it was the perfect weekend for canoeing. You can rent a canoe, kayak or paddleboat for $15.99 for an hour. That was plenty of time. Being two hours from Dallas, we will be back! This was a wonderful weekend of rest and retreat.

View of the lake from campsite # 10! Beautiful!

One of the best state parks in Texas! I am not sure why there are no reviews for Daingerfield State Park, it's a jewel in the Texas State Park system. My wife and I have been RVing and camping at Daingerfield State Park for decades now. By far, it is our favorite state park in the Texas State Park system. It's not huge park, only around 600 acres with an 80 acre spring fed lake. A few years back the park was closed for almost a year for major renovation/face lift. We were very worried the "beauty" of the park was going to change but it didn't. They only improved it! New bathhouses, three of them, were added. The old ones were torn down. A new park store was added down by the lake. The park also has a beautiful new front access gate. Most importantly, all sites in the park are now full hookups, water, electricity and sewer! During the renovation, the old roads and sites pads were taken out and new asphalt was laid down. You're not a camper or an RVer? Daingerfield's got you covered. There are two small cabins, one large cabin and even a lodge with two wings! The cabins were remodeled a few years back and very afforadable. What to do in the park? You have hiking, fishing, canoeing and paddle boats. Daingerfield also has a wonderful swimming area. Watch out for the "cold pockets" since the lake is spring fed. The swimming area is so refreshing during the hot summer months. If you're in the piney woods of east Texas, you've got to pay a visit to Daingerfield State Park

Park was beautiful! Unfortunately, they failed to mention on their main website and Facebook that kayaks were not operating. Drove 5 hours to visit this park and the only thing we could do is hike the 2 trails. Pretty disappointed won't be returning.

Very well kept park. The staff is friendly and helpful in helping guests get around. Trails are nice and shaded with great views. Restrooms and picnic areas are kept super clean for guests. Water is clean and nice for swimming and floats. A great hidden spot!

Nice parallel in tall trees! We stayed two nights in #18. The sites in Dogwood camping area are short. We barely fit #17 & 22 were longer. We had full hookups. Very nice swimming area and a swim platform. Nice hiking trails. My husband met a guy who had caught 3 fish on the peninsula.

Texas state parks have a tendency to be right off the side of the road and still feel like a world away. The classic summer camp lake and pretty trails are just the sort of place you'd want to spend a late fall day (I say that because summer can be pretty sweltering).

Our family is on a road trip and we stopped at Daingerfield State ParK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDSm54g06dU ... That is the video that we created of our time there. There are so many things to do at this Texas state park. We started by getting on our swimsuits and getting in the lake. The water was very warm (like bathtub water) and it felt great after being in the car for hours. There is a swimming platform out in the middle of the lake that you can dive off of and have fun on. You can also see a lot of the fish in the water. I stuck my GoPro in the water and did a neat time lapse shot of them. After swimming, we went to the General Store and everyone in the family got a popsicle. It was a hot July day for us. After finishing our popsicles, which to my surprise were very inexpensive, we went to the car to put on some bug spray. We sprayed ourselves down and we went for a hike. There is a hiking trail that goes around the lake. We hiked until our kids got tired and then we turned around. It was cool to see how they burn the area to help with the ecosystem. We really had a great time at this state park, and I would go back again if we were ever in the area. There is so much more to do there. You can also rent different kinds of water boats and go out on the water. I would love to do that next time.

Camped here for two nights and LOVED it! The campsite was beautiful. The bathrooms were really nice and super clean. And the park staff was wonderful :-) I read a review about hearing traffic noises from the nearby highway and at times I did notice the sound of cars.... but only because I was listening for it.

Great park with lots of trails. Varying activities throughout the year. Camping sites scattered around the park too.

This was our first time at Daingerfield SP and we loved it. We did the rustling leaves trail and it was perfect for us. I would 100% recommend this trail and this sp. We got to see frogs, turtles, huge moths, and so much more. It was just a ton of fun and we plan on going back.

Fall is beautiful at the park

Designed and built by local riders and businesses, the intent is to open up cycling to everyone. That's exactly what has been done. This trail system can be enjoyed by all skill levels. It is essentially split into three sections that can be entered or exited off of a granite loop that can also be iced for a warm up or down loop as well as for runners or walkers or those with children. The trail is constantly being maintained and improved. The one thing I'm not happy with are that some of the trail in the last section is not marked well and you can find yourself riding a few loops over again or even riding the wrong direction! So be careful of this. The system has At least 6 miles of trails, this number may not be accurate anymore with the additions and in fact, my ride today ended up being 7 miles and I know I coulda pulled more out of it. Attached to the park are tennis courts, a splash pad, playground equipment, baseball fields, a small pound that is stocked yearly, and miles of hiking, biking, and jogging trails. Also, you can access the South Tyler trail system from here which is an excellent trail system that will take you all over the southern part of the city. The trail system is growing every day. Also located here is Tyler's newest Police Station so there's no shortage of police presence. I always enjoy coming to this park to run, ride, practice yoga, or just relax.
