Though much smaller than say the Tesco on Riverside Drive, this was my local one. I'd walk here and always over shop...I'd tell myself one bag of groceries to carry home...and it always became 7 heavy bags. Oops.
Lovely staff there that isn't afraid to ask where you've been if they haven't seen you for a week. Of course, I was always a bit shy on talking because as an American, I felt like a rock star when living in Scotland.
Why?
Wherever I would go and talk, I'd always get, "You're not from around these parts. Where ya from, hen?" I'd feel bad because the queue would get held up from the friendliness of the cashiers or regular workers no matter where I was.
I miss that kind of friendliness, but am happy to always drop in whenever I'm back in Scotland. read more
