We stayed nearby on Monmouth St for a while and this Tesco Express became a daily stop for us because it had all the essentials: food, alcohol, health and beauty stuff, etc. There aren't a million options, but there doesn't need to be (beyond staples like tea, toilet paper, pre-made sandwiches, crisps in all the best flavors, treats and sweets, there's also just enough produce and grocery items to fill in the gaps of your pantry and throw together a quick dinner).
It's cleaner, more well stocked, better laid out, more spacious, and the queue seems to move more quickly than the Sainsbury's Local nearby, though the cashiers seem a bit less friendly. The biggest problem with this Tesco Express is that it's located literally at a bus stop - so there are times when the queue for the public transport crowds the front of the entrance so much that it can be nearly impossible to get in.
