Set 2 minutes back from Whitstable beach, Windy Corner is the perfect place or Sunday Brunch (or weekday lunch or coffees). Furnished with antique furniture, the whole cafè feels like your granny's kitchen. The food itself is mostly sourced from local producers and they have an artisan baker who uses the cafe after hours and supplies the bread. The menu is constantly changing depending on what the staff have felt like cooking, but if it can be made from what they stock, they can make it for you. Having been a while since I've been here the pricing is not as great as it used to be. £4 used to get you a large portion of poached eggs on toast with 2 thick slices of artisan bread and 3 perfectly poached eggs. Today I got 1 slice and 2 eggs for the same price. The other portions of things like lasagne and such seemed unchanged. Despite my minor gripe this is still a fantastic little place to go for a lunch or a coffee in whitstable.

(Whitstable also has one of these). But they have reasonable lines of all fresh food and groceries. There isn't an in-house bakery, but they do have a limited range fresh baked items which are delivered. There aren't many checkouts, and there was a bit of a queue on my visit, so choose your times. On the plus side, the opening hours (7am-11pm Mon-Sat) are useful.
