Had to have an emergency locksmith attend during office hours to open a door , as I was locked in .It took the whole of 5 minutes to open the door and he charged £200. He was the most miserable individual I have met in a long time and was fixated with the price of the job even though I was locked in and quite distressed.He gave me the quote from the other side of the door , so I had little choice but to accept it. He said I would need to pay him £200 for the job as he had to drill the handle .it took 5 minutes and he had no interest in the fact that I was upset having been locked in for 4 hours in very hot temperatures and also being quite unwell at the time. This is not the normal kind of service I have experienced from this company in the past , they are usually kind and very helpful. This man had no customer focus only money and seemed to have had a personality bypass ?? Not a good look for the company at all. read more

Keys, you never think about them untill you move or get locked out. I had a brief encounter with Terry's All Locks when I moved into my new flat. I went along with my flatmates keys into Terry's small but perfectly formed shop just by Croft Park Stn and did the deed. I was told that there was not much point in getting the bottom lock key unless I had the origional which I found very honest. My other flatmates all paid money at other places to get the copies copied and they didn't work in the lock. Thanks to this place I saved myself around £4 from not making that mistake - any little helps. Now I havnt used any of the other services, but based on that little bit of local service in the city I wouldn't hesitate to reccommend this place for all your key cutting, breaking back in and keeping the buggers out, needs. read more

Helpful, quick and pretty prompt. Quickly changed the locks on the inside front door of my new house and saved me from having to do more extensive work on the outer front door by making repairs to a lock which according to the previous owner hadn't worked for years. Wow! Hand-crafted a key to fit an antique mortice lock (lost key) in a Victorian door and repaired an antique late Georgian/early Victorian rim lock. Aware that my carpenter was only here today, they had it ready in 2 hours! After a terrible experience with locksmiths in Blackheath, I had nearly given up on saving our antique locks. After 2 hardware stores and a neighbour pointed me to Terry's, I now realise that all can be saved. VERY reasonably priced and they even polished the brass and oiled/cleaned them as an extra. Not impressed.. My first trip there to get some keys cut the woman serving my said almost nothing throughout the whole transaction, forgot to give me a till receipt, then when I went back to ask for it again, very little in the way of common courtesy.. like Hello, Please, Thanks, Bye... I then went back again a few days later, to ask if they would go over they keys again as they where a bit stiff being from copies other then the original, and I was met by a very defensive man who treated it as if it was a pointless excersize because I did not have the original key. When I explained I had no other option as I don't have the original, he informed me he was 'not going to listen to me'.. and he redid the keys in silence and then I left... Not very pleasent experience. Not very helpful. They keys do work fine now though, so that's good :) This place has lots to offer in the way of door locks and security, and is great place for proffessional locksmiths and tradesmen, maybe not so helpful for general public. read more
