The most frustrating part was not my credit score itself, but the lack of proactive guidance. Before my mortgage application, I believed my credit score was much higher than it actually was. Once my credit was pulled, it became clear that there was a significant gap between my expectations and reality. However, I was never proactively informed about the situation, its impact on my mortgage options, or potential remedies that might have been available. I later learned about rapid rescore through my own research rather than from my lender. Given my credit profile, this was something I believe should at least have been discussed. Instead, I remained unaware of important information that could have affected my decisions during a very time-sensitive period. When I later reached out with questions, I did not feel supported or educated as a first-time borrower. Conversations often felt rushed and dismissive, and I was repeatedly told that I could simply refinance later. While refinancing may be an option in the future, it is not free, effortless, or a substitute for helping borrowers understand all available options before closing. As a first-time homebuyer, I expected more proactive communication, guidance, and attention to detail. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

Communication and responsiveness - she will literally email you at all hours of the day/night, providing whatever info when you need it. communication with her was very easy from the beginning. 2. Took time to explain everything - there are so many details in going to settlement but she explained everything thoroughly, even going line by line. 3. Very honest and straightforward - no unnecessary fees and was willing to flex on some negotiable fees. fees were the lowest by a significant amount. i'm always a bit weary of loan officers/mortgage brokers but she definitely won my trust. 4. Great rate - like i said, the others couldn't touch the rate she was offering (not even the online mortgage lenders) Overall, she was extremely easy to work with and very friendly. We came across quite a few hiccups but they were so great about answering my emails within an hour and keeping me up to date on everything. But they make it so much easier.
