I also felt like they were pushy. I ended up buying a cervical cushion for at home exercises that was way overpriced and I don't think I really needed, but was cajoled into buying. Recently I went to TCB for the second time and I had the same arrogant experience that I had 4 years ago when I was in an accident. The first time Natalie Lyle who has been a DC a long time turned me off when she refused to meet with my long term DC who helped found CBP. He had been in a recent car accident and could no longer work on me. Initially Natalie stated that she'd be pleased to meet with him so he could explain how he adjusted me. After I had trouble getting the adjustments that I wanted and I told her that I wanted to schedule my 30+ year DC in to help us. She told me then that she would not ALLOW another DC into the office to review her work, etc. I never went back to that office. Recently I needed to get adjusted in Boulder as my next DC had a personal issue arise and was no longer available to work on me. I decided to work with Alex, Natalie's son, who I assumed wouldn't have such an arrogant attitude. Unhappily, though the adjustments I got were excellent, Alex refused to do all the other ones I wanted. I have had Chiropractic and other body work for over 40 years since a major accident in the 80's. I know what my body needs and I like CBP Chiropractic. Within a few days I was hurting again and I didn't have the funds to return for more work. I called and talk to the office manager and told her that I needed Alex to call me as I needed all the other adjustments I told him about and that the first one hadn't held well. She said he'd call me to discuss. I called 2 more days in a row after that. He NEVER called me. I thought that was very unprofessional and a ripoff to me! I was also tricked into coming into the office for an exam and adjustment and having to pay $113 for both. I was told by the office manager that we would talk about the costs. She knew I had no insurance and only received a small Social Security payment monthly. Natalie told me that I would have to pay $49 for the exam and $64 for the adjustment. Had it been only the adjustment I could have paid for another one the next week. I felt that Alex should have completed the adjustment for free the following work per my instructions. I KNOW what my body needs and won't put up with being ignored and blown off like that. I cannot recommend this DC office; both DC's are arrogant, self centered and controlling! read more

However, this generally isn't the case - you should know when booking, your first visit is supposed to be only a consultation with no adjustment. This is not disclosed during the booking process or in a pre-appointment phone call and I would have been very disappointed if I left unadjusted. Expect to have your temp checked & a health form filled before entering the facility - standard protocol during this time. However, understand adjustments are done in an open space, with tables separated by 3ft of distance. As I left, The small waiting room had 7 people either waiting or checking in, sitting in chairs side-by-side, arm to arm. Operating a waiting room during this time is also against health orders. Other equipment is spread throughout the open space, again with little space between each machine. It's disappointing to pay for a consultation at a facility you will not be able to return to due to the business not following health orders by the state. If you're taking COVID serious, I do not recommend Terry Chiro. read more

I started going to Terry Chiropractic to help with my discomfort during my twin pregnancy. At my first visit, Dr. Natalie did a thorough consultation and some testing then came up with a specialized plan for me. She even went the extra mile to get prenatal cushions for the adjustment table for my growing belly! Each visit I check in with the amazing Kayla then get adjusted by either Dr. Natalie or Dr. Duff then do light traction work with Joel and in 6 weeks I've noticed a difference in my back, pelvis, and hands. I'm looking forward to continuing the work with them during pregnancy then having them help me and my babies heal up after birth. I'm sure these doctors do some good work, but I went there with a specific issue based on a google search for treatment for bone spurs. Turns out they don't do this treatment but instead they took me through a whole presentation that was pushy and I felt like I was being sold a timeshare. In the end, I told them I did not feel they were a good fit for me. The original doctor that started this clinic is no longer there, and Natalie who received a lot of good reviews is no longer there either. Just know that you will be taken through a very intense sales pitch for their services, and maybe they will be a good fit for you. read more

This is the first chiropractic office that I've been to that has a full team completely invested in your wellness. They have regular meetings with you to check your progress, and they also do a before and after x-ray to see and measure your improvement. This is very motivating for them and for the patient because you can see how all the effort time and energy you've been putting into your care is paying off. I've received just over 40 treatments at Terry Chiropractic to alleviate mid back pain and neck pain I've had for years. The treatments are like nothing I've ever experienced. Dr. Terry uses weights and straps to place my neck in proper alignment in one treatment. He uses pressure and straps in two others to realign my back. I'm impressed with the results - I literally hold myself differently and feel better overall. I still have some back pain but it is significantly reduced. As long as I live in this area I will be going to see him for treatments to improve my posture and alleviate pain. It's a long process and not painful, just uncomfortable. The massage therapist wouldn't even touch my lower back and Terry the chiropractor charged me $1,475 put me in all kinds of torture apparatus and my back is still messed up. If anyone needs chiropractic services Terry Chiropractic is the place to go. They use mechanical systems that focus to regenerate degenerative spines. They focus on fixing you rather than just temporarily alleviating pain. I don't trust any other chiropractors that don't use these devices. Dr. Terry was so very helpful in explaining the root of my issue and the regime to correct it over time. He even showed me stretches. I really like how he reserves time out of the day for one on one time to explain to each of his clients what's going on and the next steps. I am truly astounded by all the positive reviews for this business because my experience there was unpleasant in every possible way. I had some lingering neck pain from a ski accident (a previous visit to a different chiropractor in my hometown had cured most of the pain) and made an appointment to have it addressed. After spending two hours on two different days and almost $100 at Terry Chiropractic, my previously mild neck pain is now worse. I went in on the new patient special, which is supposed to be $34 for my first adjustment. During the extensive evaluation by Dr. Duff, during which he touched me excessively, stood unnecessarily close to me, and bragged about his own exercise routine, he told me that they would need to take four x-rays at $30 each, quintupling the price of my visit and meaning that I would not get adjusted that day, and would have to make a second appointment to go over the x-rays and get the adjustment. As a graduate student, I do not have a ton of extra time and money, and as a graduate student in physics, I highly disapprove of exposing people to ionizing radiation such as x-rays if it is not truly necessary. I resisted this extra expense and they said fine, we will only do x-rays for the area you came in for, so my visit was only triple the cost I originally anticipated. Then they said could not bill my insurance provider directly (they only work directly with Blue Cross Blue Shield), but they could provide me with a superbill which I could submit for reimbursement. I didn't notice until after I left the office that the charges on the superbill did not add up to the full total I paid at the office, and so even if my insurance provider does reimburse me it will not be for the full amount. When I went in for my actual adjustment, I was forced to watch a twenty-minute advertisement justifying why they take so many x-rays, which makes me believe that this is a common practice for them to lure people in with the cheap-seeming specials and then tell them that they need lots of x-rays at a high additional cost. Then both doctors came in the room with me to look at my x-rays, exerting pressure that a used car salesman might find excessive, telling me that my neck was extremely messed up and if I did not submit to their regimen of at least 40-80 visits (or, at ~$40/adjustment, if I did not give them $1600-$3200) over the next 3-6 months, I would stay sick and get sicker (please note that I am very young and healthy, and never claimed to be sick, only to have mild neck pain). They also told me that I would need to attend a "wellness clinic" which I assume would just be more marketing. I did not want to commit to this and I really just wanted the adjustment I had already paid for, however after the adjustment my neck pain was worse than before. Another thing to note is that they kept using the word "subluxation," and Dr. Duff acted surprised that I didn't know the word. It sounded like pseudoscience to me and after some quick research I found that the International Chiropractic Education Collaboration holds the following position: "The teaching of vertebral subluxation complex as a vitalistic construct that claims that it is the cause of disease is unsupported by evidence. Its inclusion in a modern chiropractic curriculum in anything other than an historical context is therefore inappropriate and unnecessary. . . . Practice styles promoting preset 'high volume' chiropractic care models as wellness care, which may contribute to inappropriate patient dependence, compromise patient confidentiality or require repeated exposure to ionising radiation are not part of an undergraduate chiropractic curriculum. Students should be taught to recognise that such approaches are not acceptable in terms of the best interests of patients or the chiropractic profession." Unfortunately, the above describes this practice to a T. I truly do not understand the positive results others have had here. I found them to be extremely predatory, as well as unhelpful, and cannot recommend them. I would advise anyone considering coming here, as well as current patients, to do more research into Chiropractic BioPhysics, as I wish I had before I came here, because it is generally considered pseudoscience, even by other chiropractors. Full disclosure: this happened in January, but after talking to a friend about this she urged me to finally post this and warn others. I would also like to say that after complaining, they did refund my money, which honestly is another red flag for a "medical" establishment. read more

I had a Groupon deal for Terry Chiropractic that I used last week, or should I say tried to use. It was supposed to be for a chiropractic evaluation and two adjustments. After two hours of being in their office, spent filling out numerous different sheets of paperwork (with lots of redundant and intrusive questions) answering many of the same questions from a nurse and then from Dr. Terry as well (who also asked intrusive questions, for some reason he wanted to know what grade of climbing route I was able to complete, both indoor and outdoor, I'm not sure how that matters), watching a video about chiro and lots of time just sitting and waiting, the misery was over. But it was over before I received any type of adjustment. The reason for this is because I would not agree to pay an extra $40 to have X-rays done, which there was no mention of in the description of the deal I had purchased. Dr. Terry said there would be no hard feelings if I decided not to get the X-rays, and there was obviously no adjustment either, but he was somewhat rude after I told him I would pass on the X-rays. He suggested that I should be able to afford the extra cost and then he said that I had some sort of mental block keeping me from agreeing to the X-rays. If you visit this office, be prepared for lots of waiting around, lots of intrusive questions asked to you multiple times, hearing about how great Dr. Terry is......or maybe once was (from his staff, his resume that is given to you with the paperwork and from the photos hanging around the office) from the time you step in the door throughout your entire visit, and also to be treated unkindly. That's not the experience I'm looking for from a professional, especially someone in a field that is supposed to heal people.
