Priya living, Warm Springs located in calm and quite surrondings of Fremont is a "Home Away From…read moreHome" for Seniors, in a gorgeous environment and with friendly active Seniors as neighbours. I enjoyed my stay in PLWS. " Nevera dull moment"- thanks to our community Director Seema Tuli who greets us with a variety of new activities/-social, entertainment. brain teasers, group lunch and so on. She spares no efforts to innovate new programs to cheer us up. All maintenance issues are solved by Elias instantly on the spot with a smiling face. Other issues are quickly sorted out by the office. I proudly say that my life in PLWS is one of the happiest phases in my life and I strongly recommend this place to Seniors.

I've intended to write this review for quite a while. We were living in these apartments when Priya…read moreLiving first purchased them a couple of years ago and stayed there about one year under their management. My wife and I are public school teachers with three children under the age of 7 at the time. We expressed both a safety concern and a concern about family accommodation to them a few months after they took over ownership. The response we received was pretty charged and addressed from a person who referred to himself elsewhere as the "founder and CEO." Per yelp policy I won't publish the person's name. After observing some concerning actions (or lack thereof) by Priya ownership in their treatment of other tenants with whom we were close, we mentioned to Priya living in advance we would potentially write a social media review of their business. I thought it was important to post an excerpt from that response from the CEO in case it is helpful to anyone to understand the philosophy of management and their attitude toward customers. It also might explain the limited yelp reviews (I must admit that I felt a little cautious about posting this - not a lot of extra money sitting around a family of teachers to defend against SLAP lawsuits). Excerpt from letter from "CEO and Founder" of Priya Living: "Be aware that if you choose to publicly make false and irresponsible statements about our actions and intentions... we will immediately initiate a defamation lawsuit against you, and pursue it aggressively." Even though we had many experiences to share, one of the reasons we had not posted this earlier was because we actually really liked the onsite manager Priya Living, named Selva. As a caring and customer-oriented individual, he seemed a contrast to the attitude and philosophy of ownership. Our kids and family considered him and his wife great friends. Shortly after we left, we heard from Selva that he had been fired. While quite sad, it was not surprising based on our other interactions with Priya Living. Priya Living seems to have a somewhat "we-know-best" top-down management style, so I'm guessing Selva's willingness to listen to tenants and make positive changes likely made them uncomfortable. I have chosen not to include some of our specific concerns and observations (neither positive or negative) since we didn't find Priya Living was very receptive to constructive feedback. Feel free to send me a private message though if you feel this information would be helpful to you in making a decision on whether to move into the complex yourself or have a relative move in. You might wonder why I gave 3 stars when I obviously had some major concerns about the ownership. I actually did have some positive things to say about the company and their management, but I just didn't feel I could write a totally objective review with the previously-mentioned lawsuit threat. Three stars reflects our overall experience: essentially a mix of significant concerns about ownership with some positive experiences regarding improvements to the grounds and facilities.

My brother and I had looked at a number of possible assisted living facilities and Golden Heritage was my first choice. It is relatively close by to where I live and work, has an Asian staff with many speaking Mandarin (as well as I believe Catonese). There are also some Japanese and possibly some Korean residents as well. We had also considered Aegis Gardens in Fremont, but it was further away and higher cost. The place is independently owned and run by a very nice family with experience in running health care facilities. The place also felt less "corporate." The facilities were converted from a "European" style hotel - with each of the resident floors having a big common space - so it doesn't look like a typical assisted living facility or hotel. The place is clean and the staff is friendly. It took a few months for my mom to adjust living there, but she's come to enjoy living there. My mom enjoys the activities including simple daily exercises, some crafts, weekly outings to pick up small groceries (like fruit for small fridge in room) and household items, and bingo. And, often on the weekends there are small performances by local groups like youth or senior church groups I think. There is free wifi and my mom regularly streams videos from her iPad which I understand is common. Having just broken her hip my mom started off in the assisted living floor of Golden Heritage, but a few months after transitioned to an independent living floor which helped keep the costs down. Despite being in independent living they do check in on her and have called my brother or I when they have noticed problems such as falls or strange behavior; we monitored more carefully and eventually had a medical issue taken care of. It definitely gives me piece of mind knowing that she's being watched over. All in all I'm very satisfied with Golden Heritage. I think if you're looking into senior facilities for you elderly loved one you should definitely check out multiple places as they will each feel a little different to you. I wouldn't state that Golden Heritage is for everyone, but it's been working very well for my mom.
