We knew that they cost almost double for routine things like vaccinations, but a friend who worked there told us that this is because they are the best vets in town with the best expertise, so we were willing to pay more. How wrong that turned out to be! Our dog seemed to be having some discomfort with her stomach, so we took her in and they gave her an x-ray, and said that she had a major blockage in her intestine and had to be operated on. The vet stressed that the surgery had to be done immediately or our dog would almost certainly die. We scraped together the $3,300 for the surgery from family and friends, and she underwent the procedure. Afterward the vet told us that it turned out she didn't have any blockage after all, and that it was just minor stomach discomfort that resolved on its own. While she was under the anesthetic they also spayed her, because they knew we wanted that eventually. When we got the bill, not only did they bill us the full charge for the emergency surgery (even though this was their mistake) but they also billed us a separate surgical fee, anesthetic fee, etc. for the spay surgery, which had been done concurrent with the blockage surgery. When we contested this, they were really unhelpful. They said they would keep our dog and not give her back until we payed for both surgeries. In the end we had to get a lawyer and pay her to negotiate the bill because they refused to admit that they had told us our dog needed the surgery at all. In the end we ended up paying $1,300, basically for a spay surgery (which should normally run about $400 tops), not including the cost of getting a lawyer just so we could get our dog back. They were completely unhelpful, infexible and made a difficult time even worse. We have never gone back and absolutely never will.

Was not advised it would be a different vet. Had to rebook and buy more medication. Asked receptionist/assistant to confirm correct dose, as I did not want to keep drugging dog and buying more medication if not necessary. Receptionist/assistant said it should work, as that is dose normally given (yet, wasn't given previously). Bring dog to second appointment, still a different vet from original, dog so drugged she pees on floor. Receptionist/assistant takes her in, comes back and says dog has no pee left. Asked if I could give her water and come back, receptionist/assistant says no, it'll be too long a wait. Advises my vet quit (first time telling me this). Says they will call to see if they will continue with extraction or do something else, and get reassessed by new vet. Take dog home, at which point she immediately pees again without any water needed to be given. They did not contact me. No new appointment set. Dog drugged twice with nothing done. Charged for "consultation" plus medication. Nothing done, issue unresolved, vet quit and I was not notified. Total spent $242.10 for literally no reason. Still no contact, and no refund offered. Unprofessional, disorganized, would not recommend.

After paying $300 for a check-up, this clinic recommended that all this dog's teeth be removed. This is a major surgery for a very senior dog probably in the last stages of her natural life, and I declined as I considered it as inflicting unnecessary suffering on my beloved old girl. I requested antibiotics and a pain killer for her. After a mere few days, she seemed her old self again. She thrived and certainly wasn't in pain. Then her prescription ran out. Back to the vet, another $300 spent, and good for another month. The vet refuses to offer refills on the prescription as they simply want to continue to rip us off- no concern whatsoever for this pets suffering. The attitude is 'you shouldn't have a pet' if you can't pay, which is extortion. They would willingly subject a senior dog to unnecessary surgery to get their $2 grand, all the while knowing it will probably kill her, or cause her last year to be one of extreme discomfort. This vet has not the slightest inkling of empathy or compassion for the pet and certainly none for a pet owner. Treat your clients fairly and they may come back. Learn good business practice. About a week after I brought my puppy to PAH for her first needle, she started vomiting. The bill for her treatment came to about $3700, and I was told that it may have been a stomach bug or possibly worms. Receiving an unexpected bill that size was daunting to say the least. When I asked for an itemized list of what was required I found flaws in the billing. For example, I was charged $200 in medication instead of the $19 that was actually needed. After speaking with my friends who also take their dogs to PAH about my bill, they asked if the clinic offered me the free month of pet insurance that they offer every customer of their clinic. They had not. When I called to ask why I wasn't offered pet insurance, I was told that it was a very unfortunate situation, and that Covid had made it hard to offer all customers the same standard of care. They told me the best they could do for me was to offer an apology. Pet insurance would have covered a substantial portion of my fees, and I found it hard to accept that Covid was interfering since they had time to shoot and post TikTok/Instagram videos of my dog (which they've since removed from their pages), but not offer the standard care that all other customers receive. After several emails back and forth, PAH offered to refund $1000 of my $3700 bill. After this, I stuck with PAH because I felt that my puppy received quality care from the vets who delivered her treatment during her emergency visit despite the poor communication and huge expenses. Changing clinics would be challenging given the backlog of patients caused by the pandemic at that time. However, I ran into more issues when I booked my puppy's appointment for a spay. When I first called, she was scheduled right away for her surgery. It was only after speaking to my friends who have puppies from the same litter and also go to PAH, that I learned they were all given appointments for blood work prior to their surgery and given information on fasting. After hearing this I called the clinic to ask about a bloodwork appointment and they insisted she didn't need an appointment. This didn't make sense to me given that the other puppies in her litter had also seen the vet a couple months earlier. I called back again. After three calls they realized they had indeed made a mistake and that my puppy did in fact need blood work prior to her operation. Had I not repeatedly inquired, I'm not sure if they would have gone ahead with the surgery or not. I have never written a review for a business before let alone a negative one, however after this experience I felt it was important to share what I went through. The fact that bolstering their social media presence was more of a priority than my dog's health is beyond concerning. To have it shrugged off, excused, and given a half hearted apology was insulting. A customer should not have to rely on friends and internet research to learn what the proper medical procedures are for their pet.

Slept with us in the bed all night and loves all of her toys!! Danielle, the breeder, has been nothing but a pleasure to work with. She is so passionate about her cats and the breed, educated and helpful throughout the whole process. She has kept us in the loop on our kitten with photos and progress information up until the day we picked her up and continues to help out! She really cares about the cats, their well-being and what forever homes they go to.
