I had booked the installation of a vapor barrier in the crawl space of my home as well as attic…read morescreens installed to prevent insects from nesting in my attic space. The tech arrived at 9:15am for an 8am appointment, and when he did arrive, he remained in his truck for well over 15 mins. I finally had to go outside and coax him out of his truck to get the job started. Attached is a pic of the attic screens installed. How many wasps do you think could get through such a large grid? The screens were ultimately changed to a finer mesh, but why wasn't common sense used in the first place? Next, the vapor barrier: Where do I start? The tech lied to me when he said the plastic would be stapled to the ground. I don't think this location was counting on me actually getting under my own house to look at the work. Please see attached pics that show that he didn't staple it to the ground as well as areas where the barrier was wadded up in a large ball, completely defeating the purpose of the barrier. Additional work was done to repair the mess left by the first tech. The question to ask ourselves is exactly how much training do the techs at this Orkin location receive before they're allowed to perform work?
