It is located in the port of Hamburg--within the HafenCity quarter--and was built from 1883 to 1927. The district was built as a free zone to transfer goods without paying customs. As of 2009, both the district and the surrounding area are under redevelopment. As the first site in Hamburg, it was awarded the status of UNESCO World Heritage Site on 5 July 2015. The architecture is amazing and you can walk around and explore the buildings from the outside. It's a wonderful part of Hamburg and not to be missed. We walked around here for a long time and some nice cafes and things also in this area.

I can total image to spend a week here. It's really relaxing. It also offers a little hill, for people who like to do some hiking or jogging. What I found really nice is the houses here, they all have their own voices. The wide of road is quite small, It just alright for 2 to 3 persons. Somehow this place reminded me some japanese animes sense I used to saw when I was a kid. So for me, it is quite interested trip. It's not so difficult to get to this place. I come with the ferry. Really convenient. The price of the ticket is reasonable. I bought the day-ticket. It allowed me to take any popublic transportation as much as I want the whole day. Totally worth it.

There are guided tours in German and English language. Note that the English guided tours are not as often as the German guided tours. Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. He made the guided tour enjoyable. It was nice learning the history and seeing various rooms of the Hamburg Townhall. Overall, I recommend visiting this landmark and doing the guided tour.

Government still operates from here. I did not have time for a proper tour of the building, but the next time I am in Hamburg, I absolutely will do so. Dank der klaren Unterteilung in die Bereiche A, B und C war Regius schnell auffindbar. Nach einem unkomplizierten Check-In begleitete mich Christian, der freundliche Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption, zu meinem Raum. Dort konnte ich zu meiner Überraschung mit einer hervorragenden Internetverbindung arbeiten. Insgesamt eine super Erfahrung - ich komme gerne wieder!
