I ordered the shrimp tacos, and they were fabulous. A bit spicy but I loved em. My wife had the chicken taco salad. She loved it. Loads of chicken in her tortilla bowl. The veggies were fresh and delicious. We have had some of the best Mexican food in the west. (California, Nevada, Arizona). Mexican food in central USA hasn't always been good. THIS WAS by far and away one of the BEST FOOD I've ever tasted. The service was amazing. We had chips and salsa as we were sitting down. Food was served quickly. Good experience: Food was Good + . We split the Shrimp Suizo , which is Fairly large shrimp cooked with bell peppers, fresh tomatoes ( this was in August ), and boatloads of onions , on a bed of rice with cheese dip on top . Plenty for both of us and I believe that this is the First time we Both ate the entire meal , Rice included (normally we leave a high proportion of rice ) . That cheese was DELICIOUS. Jumbo lime magareta was Not the best we've had but pretty good. The chips were OK. Just good, not great. Salsa was the disappointment: Not even average. Men's restroom was Very small, but clean . I thought the decor was bright and festive, my wife thought it was a bit gaudy. Service was strangely unfriendly, not bad, not good, just Ok . Food came FAST, but bill was slow, but not too bad . Some friends from Colorado Springs told my husband and I about stopping at a Mexican restaurant in Brookfield, MO on their way to St. Louis. They highly recommended that we try it the next time we travelled on Hwy 36. Today was the day and we stopped for lunch. We loved the salsa and chips provided and my chimichanga with beef tips was the best I've had and I have had many chimichangas in my 55 years! Our favorite weekend spot. Good food at reasonable prices. We've had just about everything on the menu. Fajitas, carnitas, chimichangas. They will even make you things that aren't on the menu. I like steak on soft corn tortillas with onions and cilantro. You can even get a Mexican shrimp cocktail. Takes a bit of time for them to make, but worth the wait. read more

I went to this restaurant for the first time in 13 years for dinner and was extremely disappointed in the food. I remember it being excellent and now even Taco Bell is a step above this place. For a Friday evening, the parking lot was all but empty, maybe 3 or 4 vehicles. It used to be packed, especially at dinner time. I ordered beef enchiladas with green sauce, rice and beans. The beef, and I'm so sure it'd not that I took part of my meal in a to go box with the intent of having the contents tested, was so overcooked, dry and with a strange after taste I totally lost interest in eating! Even the refried beans were totally tasteless and nothing but a puddle of pink goo, and the rice was dry enough to use as wallpaper paste. Lastly, even the iced tea was just diluted colored water. Zero flavor. I rarely leave reviews about places I go to, but the food in this place was so bad I felt I needed to. Even the tortilla chips were so thick, hard and cold nothing could have been done to save them. The only positive part of the whole experience was the service. Me and my husband went there for a quick meal and a couple drinks. We ordered our meals and 2 margaritas with a couple waters. We got our margaritas and 1 water. Which wasn't horrible and over lookable. We got our food timely and was hot. Which was great until we tried it. We ordered the mixed fajita's. The chicken was tuff and shrimp was rubbery and over all very bland. Poor excuse for authentic Mexican food. Normally if the food is bad oh well we just won't go there again no harm. About a quarter through our meal our drinks ran out. We tried to flag our waiter down and he looked passed us. Which is understandable if we were not seen. He walked by again and the same thing. This time it was a little frustrating but still understandable. This continued through our entire meal. At one point the servers looked at us acknowledged we were trying to get their attention laughed and continued to talk and play on their phones. Our meal ended and we still had not seen our waiter or any server. So we had to go looking for the check. We go up to the counter and our waiter jumps up from the chair and rushes our check to us. Then has the audacity to ask how much of a tip we would like to leave. Needless to say we will not be returning. read more
