The attorney said he was able to work on it even without the NJ bar. I was like okay since my case was very straight forward. After a month since we started the case, I haven't heard any progress and my ex was rushing me everyday. I decided to send Leon an email. After a few weeks past, I didn't hear back from him and then I called the office. The receptionist, who picked up my call, sounded clueless. She asked me to spell my name at least 5 times and I felt that she was very annoyed with my long last name. I asked her to let Leon know to reply my call or email. However, I never got the response. A week later, I decided to switch the attorney and then finally I heard back from Leon. And he added some statements in the drafted settlement document from the opponent attorney, which didn't apply anymore. It costed me almost $1000. I am very disappointed that a almost 5 star attorney on Yelp provided a 1 star service to me. The divorce process was already depressing and this didn't help at all. Please stay away from this place.

Never bothered to finish my divorce and I just had to retain another firm to finish it. Over those 3 years there was 2 court dates and she met with me in person only once. She claimed I was an uncooperative and vindictive client because I kept emailing her once a month asking what was going on with my case. She should be disbarred!!! I never once received a billing statement or any explanation as to where the money went.

This was an unfortunate and very expensive experience for me. Almost two years ago, I hired Ms…read more Pawliczek to represent me in my divorce. She was paid IN FULL. After the check was cashed, I sat on my hands waiting for this case to be resolved. Very poor at responding to emails or phone calls. Often times there was NO response. I was charged $4,000 for an uncontested divorce, which she insists was contested to justify her fee. There was a slow down in getting the ex to sign the papers because of his procrastination and unexpected surgery and recovery. That is not contesting! Then she told me there were many 'extras' that she didn't charge me for in order to make me think I'm getting some kind of bargain. My divorce was granted in December of 2017. I never received my divorce papers yet she insists she sent them. When I told her they never arrived, she had the nerve to suggest my ex may have taken and hidden them. ?? Obviously, if they were sent, they weren't sent certified -- which you would think you would do sending something so important through the mail. And she never resent what she claims she sent anyway. Finally, after waiting for weeks on end, I drove to Goshen myself to pick up (and pay for) my divorce papers. She offered to do a Living Will for me at no charge. The offer doesn't make up for almost two years of very expensive frustration.

That's not what Debbie did, and honestly, I'm glad she didn't. She told me the hard truths right from the start. There was no sugarcoating, no false promises. She's a total straight shooter, and in a situation like this, that's exactly what I needed. It wasn't always what I wanted to hear, but it helped me make real decisions instead of living in denial. She takes the initiative without me having to chase her down or beg for updates. She's always two steps ahead, thinking about what needs to happen next. Super involved, very personal, like she actually cares about how this affects me and my life, not just another file on her desk. She got me remote court appearances when I really needed that flexibility, which made a huge difference with my schedule and stress level. And the communication? Unreal. Emails at all hours; early morning, late night, weekends. She was always prompt with her responses and never left me hanging wondering what was going on. If you want someone who will fight for you, keep it real, and actually be there when you need them, she's the one. Highly recommend.

I was served divorce papers and saw that I needed a person who is genuine and actually knows what to do for the benefit of a family. I spent a lot of time going through superlawyers, reading profiles, and AVVO and then I came across Debbie's bio. I was panicked, but when I spoke to her I knew I had found the right person, someone trustworthy and who could understand, so I retained her on the spot. In what seemed to be only a few hours, immediately my life began to change again, but now instead of more losses, the positives began to show up. She was able to secure overnights with my young children that I had missed for months! She was even able to help me graciously handle the other firm and thanks to that I was able to receive a refund (I'm told this does not happen often). The contentious divorce matters are still pending and Im certain they will work out, happy to update this review at a later time. Debbie has been able to provide a solid framework and plan for this divorce action, and has given me more certainty to move quickly and start new. Debbie has great instincts for communication and understanding and this is what you need when asking someone to fight for your rights on your behalf. I will and do recommend the services she and her team provide to anyone who's feeling angry, betrayed, lost, stuck, or even hopeless. You will come to see, "you're going to make it." It's always been about the client and their family.

When confronted, i was told i was "not paying him enough to care" but for some reason he also refused to negotiate what i would need to pay him (beyond his $300/hr fee) to be more attentive. i stuck with it because i did not want to go through the hassle of finding another attorney, and he is local to the court where our divorce is processing- a decision which turned out to be a huge mistake. I did a lot of the work of negotiating the settlement myself, with almost zero guidance or counsel, and his poor organizational skills ended up potentially adding months onto the process. it's already been a year and half, and i still have no idea whether actual divorce papers have been filed in court or not. I just fired him this morning because he responded to a list of questions ive been asking for weeks (after actively avoiding several emails and calls for the past three) with an email saying: "I am busy on trials last week and this week. So I really cannot [provide] a timeline when I will get to address these issues" maybe not the ugliest response, but after more than a year of similar excuses, it was more than enough to put the final nail in the coffin. --- if you would like a lawyer who actually seems to care about you or your divorce beyond the initial consultation- not the guy. --- if you would like a lawyer who answers the phone when you call, or responds to calls and emails within a week- not the guy. --- if you would like a lawyer who lets you know more than an hour before you are due to appear on camera in court- apparently also not the guy. im not sure how much money all these high-praise-review clients paid him to give them such great service, but my experience was obviously nowhere near as nice. the only legitimate reason i can think of that he would treat me so differently is that i am no longer a resident of his community so my long-term view of him doesn't carry any weight locally, maybe? either way, good riddance. save yourself the potential trouble and look elsewhere.
