The staff are absolutely brilliant and take the time to help out our more disabled members. They also, often, allow us special discounts, even on busy nights. As an ex-league bowler (in the 1970's!), I am not really impressed by the standard of the balls not the lanes. I remember when AMF Wigan was cited as the best kept lanes, but they've taken some hammer since. They do still have an excellent bowlers' shop, with facilities for plugging and re-drilling - not to be found anywhere else in the North-west.

They will give you free rental clubs and free balls for the pitch and putt. I've been playing fir about 30 years and have never met a better staff. They took care of us, even though we weren't locals, they treated us so good. It really made our trip. The previous day we went to riyal Liverpool for the 151st open championship(amazing!!!), but we got absolutely drenched. This was a great way to end the trip.
