Awesome patient care by front desk all the way to and including Dr. Murphy. There's no need to look any further!

You should restructure your management team who can evaluate what is taking place and place efficient solutions in place. Sitting in the waiting room for a few moments I observed how this check-in procedure impacts their patients. Patients who are aged, and presumably with heart and other health issues, walk up to the desk awaiting an employee to check them in. Eventually they notice the sign or another patient points the sign out. The patient then slowly makes it to a seat in the waiting room to wait. Eventually an employee comes to the other side of the counter, sits down, and yells into the waiting room for anyone who happened to arrive when the the desk was unattended. Then the aged patient with heart problems has to get up from the chair and amble back to the counter while the employee sits comfortably waiting. Patient frustration with the procedure is compounded by their efforts expended in returning to the counter where they expected to be checked in upon arrival. Also observed with this check in procedure is that appointment time doesn't matter. The most aggressive and able patient who answers to the yell of the employee and is first to arrive back at the counter now has priority on the schedule. My suggestion for patients of cardiac catheterization laboratory is to be prepared to arrive at an unattended reception desk and to be aggressive when an employee finally reports and hollers from beyond the sliding glass wall.
