We recently moved from San Diego to Marietta and are looking for our home church. We want some…read morething a little bit more modern that talks about the teachings of Christ. Nothing political based. When we walked into this place you could tell it was a very large church. It felt very voltage in the aspect of them immediately telling you what you can and cannot do where you can and cannot go if your kids can and cannot sit with you. It's just very weird from the beginning. As my intuition was going off like this is weird I don't like this. But because we're looking for a good church we went ahead and went forward with the sermon and so forth They wouldn't let my son sit with us that he had to go and be with the children. My son is well behaved and he would've done fine inside the church. For me and my family we like to stick together when we go to church. I don't like my son being separated from me. I also didn't like that everything was so secretive for example when we dropped him off at the kids place, they wouldn't let us like look in the door or go in with him so that he can get situated. Mind you this is the first time he's ever met any of these people any of these teachers it was just very bizarre. Very weird experience. The actual teachings that they did or the actual sermon that they did was OK it felt more of like a preacher just babbling up there with no actual point and deciphering his view and interpretation of what is stated in the Bible verse what is actually being taught and again it was just kind of like this blabbering for an hour. I personally would not recommend this church. I lid you are looking for something more family centered, community oriented, smaller church. we're very much used to smaller churches that feel more home we will not be going back.

And the message from Pastor Ryan and Pastor James are always pointing us to Jesus. Pastor Ryan does a great job of explaining scripture and showing us how Jesus is woven into all aspects of the Bible. Always showing us the goodness and faithfulness of our God! I've visited a couple times as part of the congregation, and two other times (to play for a funeral and to cover for a Sunday Mass). Fr. Tom Burdick was welcoming and provided a wonderful Homily during all my visits here. And Laura was also welcoming and informative for me as an outside musician. The church has a very open layout and a really nice audio/visual system. There's plenty of parking and it was easy to get in and out of. A very lovely church and friendly people, welcoming staff, spacious layout, and beautiful music and homilies.

She had us wait over a year to register our daughter for the teen 1st communion & confirmation program (until she was in high school) and told us that as long as she was baptized and enrolled in the program she would be able to pick a date for her quince and could be held there. We enrolled her as instructed once she hit 9th grade and now she has been told there will be no quinceañera bc she has to have her 1st communion prior. It took a long while to get our daughter back into church after all unfortunate events that had her lose her faith and now she has been misled. We fear that this disappointment will result in starting over. When I discussed our past communications she indicated that she was under the assumption my daughter had attained her 1st communion, although this was clarified several times and she is enrolled in the program to attain this, which makes zero sense if she already has this. The information is inconsistent, I believe this Parrish is all ab money and is very much deceptive.

The folks of this place are some of the friendliest and unpretentious you will ever meet. The pastor, Dave Serven, delivers a great sermon always leavened with common sense and humor.
