They have since changed the policy and the little kids are no longer co-mingled with the bigger kids. Good for them!

Little Bean Daycare - I Love U Dad

    Little Bean Daycare

I have had my son enrolled here for almost three years (from a little before 2 years old to almost…read more5). Teacher Yan and her staff are incredibly attentive to various social, emotional, and learning needs of each child. I originally only intended to keep my son here for a year or two until he could go to a pre-school, but he and I loved Little Bean so much that I decided to keep him here until he was ready for Kindergarten. My son started as a shy, nervous toddler and has really grown in his confidence, leadership, emotional regulation, Chinese comprehension, and practical life skills, with all of the support from the Little Bean teachers. I really don't know how I could have raised my son to be like he is now without his experience at Little Bean. There are so many positives at Little Bean: home-made meals and snacks provided, full-day operation, affordable, Mandarin and English-speaking (with some bonus Cantonese), low ratio of kids to teachers for more attention to each child, experienced with children of all ages, helps your child build social and life skills at their own pace, daily communication with parents, balanced schedule of play, art, and academics, weekly learning themes that are clearly communicated, potty training assistance, transparent, clean, licensed. You will not regret sending your child to Little Bean. I surely didn't. Both my son and I will definitely miss going there!

Then we heard from Yan about an opening at Little Bean. After meeting her, we knew immediately we didn't need to look any further. Now, my son is 4 years old. We explored other preschools, but none offered a curriculum as comprehensive and thoughtfully structured as Little Bean's. That made our decision easy: he'll stay here until he transitions to TK next year. Over the past 3.5 years, I've seen the love, care, and intention that go into everything they do. He eats fresh, nutritious meals, is fluent in three languages (two from little bean, one at home), and has grown into a kind and empathetic little person--and so much of that is thanks to the nurturing environment at Little Bean. I'm incredibly grateful we found it when we did.

Cindy came recommended from a friend and they also planned on brining their child during spring break as well. We toured the daycare on a weekend. From the beginning, Cindy was fast and communicative. The Daycare was small but it was very clean. No shoes inside, they provide all of the meals, they were understanding of my child's allergies, and most of all, Cindy made my daughter smile so much on her first day! Because it was short term, we paid a daily rate and felt the rate was very fair. Highly recommend this place! We feel great about having a flexible childcare option that is relatively close to us! Quick tip: You can block their drive way for pick up and drop offs. We only had to supply sheets and a blanket for her nap and water bottle. That's it!

It is going to be a big transition with her no longer going to Cindy regularly. Sending our first child to daycare was not an easy decision for us, as our families are used to helping each other out in babysitting and not sending our babies and toddlers to daycare, but it truly ended up being one of the best decisions we made for our daughter at an early age. Noticing her social skills and eagerness to interact with other kids both at daycare and in social settings has become very rewarding. Cindy has the character of someone who truly cares about the development and growth of children. I can recognize these habits she instills in her daycare, easily by observing her and the children when I picked up my daughter after work and simply talking to her for just 5-10min with updates on both my own daughter and the other kids she takes care of. Cindy was also so accommodating in adding extra days in we would need for babysitting, even in such short notice. She sent pictures every so often, and provided us with the daily routine of what our daughter did/learned on the days she attended. We appreciated her outdoor space for our daughter to get some sunlight and play, the friends that she made there, the year-round holiday activities she would prepare for the kids, and the bilingual dialogue that Cindy would use to expose the kids to more than just English. We are currently expecting our second child, and we would easily choose Cindy to be part of our lives again in babysitting and caring for our children when needed.

We sent our two daughters to Peeka-Boo Family Daycare from the time they were 5 months old to preschool age. It is a place filled with love and nurturing. There are home cooked, delicious meals and a beautiful backyard with age appropriate toys and bikes. The caregivers also give each child individual learning time daily. My oldest daughter is in kindergarten now and her teacher is impressed with how well prepared she is for school. I credit Mama Joyce. My youngest daughter moved on to preschool 6 months ago, but Peeka-Boo Daycare is still an important part of our lives. Mama Joyce is part of our family now and we are so grateful to her. They LOVED it. We were so nervous with our first child, but we quickly learned we had nothing to worry about. We'd get pictures of our lil' one throughout the day to help settle our nerves. She'd come home happy. She'd be excited to GO to daycare. Never had an issue. The caregivers are the nicest, sweetest, most patient people. And here's the thing, they've raised like... thousands of kids over the years. They are just so experienced and good with kids! I (as a parent) have learned so many tips and tricks from them over the years. We love the school so much, we had our youngest daughter attend as well ... we then told our friends who recently moved into the area with their kids about it... after checking it out... they had their oldest daughter attend, and now their second child will go there when she's old enough. And they don't even live that close to the school. They just know how good it is! The kids get reading time and help with writing and math. My daughter left DAYCARE able to write her name, recognize letters and numbers. She's in kindergarten and can read, do multiplication and division already! I chalk a lot of it up to the wonderful support she got at such a young age at the daycare. They kids make fun little art-projects they're excited to show you when you pick them up at the end of the day. And the daycare really makes holidays fun! Santa shows up and they have Easter egg hunts! There's Halloween costume parties! They even bring in some fun bread-treats from a local bakery. They accommodated our dietary preferences (we're vegetarian). My kids spent years there and are much older now and no longer attend the daycare. But they still ask to go back just to say hi and spend some time with the ladies there. I thought it was time to leave a review. Honestly, Peeka-Boo Family Daycare was a GOD SEND for us. They were incredibly cautious during the pandemic when there were no kid-vaccines available - and everyone was super scared. You can just tell they are genuinely good people, who genuinely care about the kids... and the kids feel safe and cared for...They give off a very loving and kind energy that I want my kids to be around. If you're looking for a clean, kind, honest, trustworthy and very reasonably priced daycare near Daly City. THIS IS THE PLACE! I'd even suggest you drive past some closer daycares to get here... it's that good. I honestly can not say enough good things about this place, the people, or what they've done for my family.

Since starting here, my son has grown by leaps and bounds both socially and academically. They are a performance arts-based program, so they do lots of music and dancing which my son absolutely loves. We're so grateful to have found a place where he is happy, supported, and thriving. The school was clean, tidy, and well-organized. One aspect we especially appreciated was how students are grouped by age, something we didn't see at many of the other schools we toured. After our initial visit, our son didn't want to leave--which felt like a clear sign that this was the right place for him. Our son started in the Beginning Sunshine Classroom shortly after turning 22 months old (this classroom typically serves children ages 2 to 3, though enrollment is possible starting at 22 months). From the very beginning, drop-offs were smooth--he was excited to go and eager to play with his friends. There are three teachers in his classroom, and we've had a wonderful experience with all of them. Ms. Chessica, in particular, stands out. She is incredibly organized, patient, and consistent, and we truly couldn't ask for a better teacher. Our son clearly feels safe and supported in her care. Recently, she assessed him on his knowledge of shapes, colors, and alphabet recognition, and we were so impressed by his progress. It's reassuring to know that Building Kidz not only nurtures curiosity through play and music but also actively supports academic development. We've also had great experiences with other teachers, and while it was sad to see a few move on, we understand these transitions are outside the school's control. There are many more positive things I could say, but I'll end with this: enrolling our son at Building Kidz Linda Mar has been one of the best decisions we've made as a family. We are confident that he is in excellent hands. He is nurtured, loved, and learning so much every day.
