Bubble Tea? This place is crazy, I was way too excited to pay much attention to the decor but the old vinyls were a cool touch! As I read over the menu I'm starting to notice the music theme, this place is just too good! There is 5 steps to creating your masterpiece! Step 1. Tempo - milk or fruit? I went for fruit! Step 2. Melody - I went for a remix Appleberry, a mix of strawberry and apple. Step 3. Baseline - some caffeine of course, green jasmine. Step 4. Rhythm - shaken with ice! Best way to have it!! Step 5. Harmony - these little bubbles are fun tasty and weird but glorious! I had the green apple! So much to choose from with great variety, so many fruits to choose from and that's not even thinking about the milk ones. I thought ok, nice but this going to cost me a fortune. I was wrong! A regular is setting you back £2.95 and a large £3.95 with options of extra toppings and flavor however not sure your going to need extra as the regular is a very reasonable portion! It is really like a snack in a drink! This may be my new addiction!

Bubble tea, you say? Puzzled by these very words, I headed to Tempo Tea Bar to find out just what these bubbles were and why on earth you'd want them in your tea! Turns out bubble tea is nothing to be scared of! - It's delicious and similar to a smoothie or milkshake with the addition of some tasty jelly bubbles! Sounds strange, I know, and it does take a little while to get used to the strange sensation of popping them in your mouth but bubble tea made for a fun experience and a refreshing, affordable treat! Although, the order system seems daunting at first, the friendly staff are on hand to explain it and offer recommendations. You choose from either a milk or fruit based drink in a variety of flavours. You also get to choose which kind of tea you'd like to act as the 'bassline' of your drink. (There's definitely a quirky and bright music theme about this place. I love it!) Of course, you also get to choose which of those infamous bubbles you'd like! Despite ordering being a bit of a mouthful and the fact that I really did end up a bumbling mess at the till, staff really do make things simple and easy. I went for the strawberry and vanilla milk drink with an assam bassline and strawberry bubbles as recommended to me. The result was sweet, refreshing and delicious! Bubble tea cherry popped! Now I want some more!

I was made to go to Tempo Tea yesterday. I say made because Trudie had decided she has told me enough about it and this was the designated day of me venturing into the world of Glaswegian bubble tea whether I liked it or not. I have tried "boba" before at food and drinks exhibitions but I realise now that I had just not tried it properly. I had milk, vanilla & berry, red bush tea, ice blended with cherry popping balls. Sound strange? It is! But it is also a taste sensation! If u like milk shakes, smoothies, etc, then you are going to love this place. The best bit is the small juice balls coming up the huge straw and bursting. Awesome - yes weird, but awesome. Shop itself is super brightly decorated and the staff are very very friendly and cheery. The drinks menu is really helpful in telling you how to build your own tea. It's described as if your adding bits to a song that come together to make your personal creation. Great place offering something different to Glasgow.

    Classical vanilla with tapioca boba!

I've only been once but I love this place already! Cute decor, good music & the staff are lovely. Walked in & I'll admit the menu was a little daunting at first! Though the counter girl was real helpful & walked me through it all. Started off with something simple; Classical vanilla with tapioca boba, it was straight up yummy... There's a fair variety of tea to suit everyone, milky, fruity, caffeine free.. Alongside all the tasty boba. Safe to say I'll be working my way through the menu & my loyalty card will be full in no time! Definitely check this place out!

I really don't like tea, so normally I would have avoided going here. Shame, as this place is brilliant. For a start, it's got a great youthful attitude about it - mainly as a result of the staff being so young, and in spite of the youthfulness the place looks really professional. It's got a great identity/branding, and it all looks very smart. It's got a good music theme running through it - lots of signed CDs and posters of local bands and a band of the month. They seem to be doing a lot with charity as well, which is a nice thing. The drinks are brilliant. As I said, I don't like tea, but these don't really taste of tea at all. I had a fruit based tea (passion fruit and strawberry), and it was lovely - really fresh, and the fruity bits that went with it were really cool, and it was great fun trying to get them all at the end! You can get them hot, cold and ice-cold - mine was cold, but I think I've cold would be amazing. At £2.95 a drink it isn't cheap, but as a treat every now and again I would definitely be back.

I'd never had bubble tea before but heard everyone going on and on about it so when I needed to catch a train from Queen Street I decided to give it a try--I'm so glad I did! I was a bit dubious about fruity milky tea with balls of stuff floating in it but OMG this was so right up my street! I had watermelon and vanilla tea with bursting strawberry balls and it was amazing. I love anything watermelon flavoured so while I wasn't sure how that would work in a milky tea it totally worked. I wish I would have gotten a larger size because I slurped it down so fast. The staff were super friendly and helped me through the ordering process and gave me a loyalty card, too. I will definitely be back again and am excited my office is moving right around the corner.

Went for the first time today and I loved it. So nice to find something different. My tea was a bit sweet but I picked quite a sweet combo of a fruit based lychee & peach, Assam tea with green apple beads. I want to try them all! They taste like juice really!

I'm like a major regular at Tempo Tea Bar now (seeing as I work literally 2 minutes away from it! Can't resist) Being a Malaysian, bubble tea is a huge thing back home and I miss it so dearly! So when I discovered Tempo, it felt like a choir from a church began singing heavenly music in my head (HALLELUJAH). The place itself is small, but super funky, with the decorations all bubble tea/music themed, and also the girls at Tempo ALWAYS play awesome music! A lot of the times, they play 90's tunes (Mariah Carey, BSB, Nsync you name it!), so I'm there for the boba AND the music ohoho! The staff members there are also pretty rad. They're super friendly, quirky, helpful and will try to accommodate the bubble tea to your specific palette! There are also diagrams and examples of flavours in the place that you can see and read before you order. My favourite is matcha bubble tea with tappioca! Go have a try! So anyway, if you've never tried bubble tea before, or if you're craving one because bubble tea is embedded in your blood (like me), go ahead and give Tempo Tea Bar a go!

It is no secret that I adore bubble tea. I mean, to say I was slightly obsessed for a while may be an understatement! OK... Let's be honest. It's a full-blown addiction. Tempo is one of two bubble tea establishments (that I know of) in Glasgow City Centre and is by far my favourite. The staff are as bubbly as the absolutely delicious tea they serve. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with places to sit and origami paper for folding while you drink your boba beverage. I make hopping frogs because they're fun. ;) Obviously the real star is the tea. There is an excellent selection and you can combine flavours to your liking. You can make wild flavours or stick to the classics - I love taro and tapioca. You can have your drink hot, cold or even blitzed with ice (which is unusual for most bubble tea places). Their special winter drink is hot chocolate with coconut which is just cosiness in a cup. They will be seeing a lot of me in the next month as Christmas shopping looms.

I love this store! I don't know why but I never go to Tempo as often as I'd like, which means when ever I do get back I've forgotten how bubble tea works again. Luckily Tempo has some of the nicest staff ever and they're always happy to talk you through how to order your bubble tea, which flavours match best and which combinations to go for. They even have a wall sized bubble tea making flow chart to help you out! Also, they kindly let me get more stamps on my ancient reward card! On my last visit I ordered a mango and passion fruit blend with jasmine tea and lychee flavoured boba. My only regret was that I only ordered a medium - always go with a large or like me you'll be sad when it's over! It's more than just a beverage, it's an experience!

Holy moly, what took me so long to try this place out?! My boyfriend and I first sampled a wee taste (and when I say wee, I mean barely a sip) of Tempo's fruit tea at the grand opening of Cass Art near by. I've always been a bit hesitant about bubble tea because of the milk factor in most of them and the fact that I'm not a milk fan. Like, at all. (yes, I love cheese and ice cream). Anyway, they were handing out free samples, so we tried them and we were hooked. Who knew that bubble fruit tea would be so amazing?! Fast forward to now...quite some time after the Cass Art opening, and having walked passed Temp Tea Bar numerous times saying I need to try it, I grabbed my boyfriends hand and finally dragged him in. Not knowing what in the world I was doing, I was happy to see wall sized instructions on what the options were and in what order to choose them. Se previous reviews about my love of iced tea, and you'll know I literally floated in to Tempo Tea Bar. No one, but my boyfriend and Sophie K. knows my love for frozen beverages, so when I saw that this was also an option, I fell even more in love! I ended up going for a frozen green jasmin mango tea with strawberry popping bubbles. Holy yum, this thing was amazing. My boyfriend and I ended up splitting one, which was hard, because we both ended up liking it so much, we were tugging the cup back and forth to get more of a taste! The bottom half of the glass was filled with the bubbles which I loved because we were able to get a taste of them with every sip of icy goodness. I was in heaven. The girl behind the counter was super nice and helpful when I went up bumbling like an idiot about what I wanted. I will be back. For sure.

    First ever bubble tea!

We drive an hour and a half there and the same back home just for the MooBoo and our last time a couple of weeks ago is the absolute last time!! The name is now CiTea (or something like that). The three girls working in it are rude , unfriendly and unhygienic. The one who served us did the service with a smile thing. Due to the fact it was Transmit weekend there were many females with their lovely little outfits on of short skirts and bikini like tops with boots. Two of the three girls looked at them in absolute disgust, the third did the exact same to my daughter after we got served and I turned around she was burning a hole in my daughters soul with her eyes and I found it all unnerving! Completely disgusted! They messed about with the gloves on, touching bubbles with the same gloves and hands that they then picked their phones out their pockets typing to each other and hysterical laughing amongst themselves. The worst who did it were the two with the headscarves on. The bubble teas they made were rotten. Mine was a coconut milk based drink, it wasn't cold, it was warm and horrible. The bubbles and tapioca were a lot less than the scoops I paid for. Nothing like the flavour or made the way it used to be. My daughters was not made normal either, hers is a dirty milk tea with different bubbles and tapioca and again it was missing the flavour and syrups it usually has. I was going to reject them due to the fact the bubbles were picked by hand with the same hands that picked phones out of pockets and touched the till and the other girl was touching money with the gloves on too! I will never ever go back there! and I've passed a wee word to others I know who work there. that take over will not work for them, staff who are disgusted by seeing females flesh or girls having fun will not fare well in Glasgow! To make rubbish drinks for a over priced cost will stop people coming.

It's take away only so all the menus are outside the shop and both in English and in a Chinese language. There is so much choice it's just a list after list of options. So after opting for the Strawberry Pearl Milk Tea with ice, the lady did her magic. It's a tea made with a milk or cream with a flavour of your choice containing the small black tapioca balls which nestle at the bottle of the plastic cup. This is were you get the pearls from, it's all in them special balls. So shaken, sealed and with a lovely big pink straw for me, I was given my first Bubble Tea. The straw is so wide, just enough for you to suck up the balls. Oooft, so much could be said here but keeping it pearly clean. Hehe!! It's such a weird sensation and it's like a wee surprise in your mouth. Steady! They are soft, chewy and taste lovely. My strawberry flavour was delicious, my man got coconut, also very tasty.
