Upon entering, we felt like we were in some crazy Opry museum as we were instantly surrounded by old Country and Bluegrass memorabilia, costumes, and posters. To the left, a bar. Next to that, a ticket window... and deep inside the building there was a ruckus that sounded like an awesome seven piece country band. What we had stumbled upon was the first night of the new season of Second Street Live's music and performing arts schedule... as well as their first show in their brand new facility! What a score! Wine in hand, and half priced tickets purchased we sat down and enjoyed a wonderful show by Alseep at the Wheel, an amazing band whose played with the likes of Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, and the like. What I would not like to see is the floor of this place under bright sunlight. Heck, pale moonlight might even reveal too much. This theater had its day. It use to be THE place to watch a movie. Now it's cheap entertainment for those on a budget or those wanting a night off the couch. Really, the only reason to watch a movie here is because Redbox was out of the particular movie that happened to be showing here. Or maybe you just want to sit in the dark and remember that time you watched The Empire Strike Back for the first time and try to forget about watching The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in there as well. The place is rundown but not "tacky". It, like many of us, got old.

I enrolled my son in CSA's Preschool for the Creative Arts. I have been so impressed with…read moreeverything he has learned and all the skills he has developed. He can play songs on both the piano and the ukulele. After learning the alphabet through creative art projects, he can now read and write all of his letters and is already trying to read street signs when we're driving down the road. I've seen drastic growth and improvement in his fine motor skills, and he has learned lots of creative ways to channel his energy at home into art projects, dance, and more! He doesn't want to sit and stare at a screen in the evenings. He has so many healthy new interests, and I truly believe enrolling him in this preschool has set him up for a lifetime of success. I highly recommend CSA and Preschool for the Creative Arts!

Rather than advise passengers, beforehand or while boarding, about consumption of alcoholic beverages being against the rules, the conductor stood over a couple while making the announcement then took a small bottle from a gentleman's hand. The conductor didn't ask him to finish the drink or to please dispose of it, he took it from his hand. Additionally the conductor told the group they needed to hand over any alcoholic beverages brought on board and it would not be returned. There is a definite need for service industry customer service training.

Worth it? If you have a desire to travel by train and want a short excursion, maybe. I guess I was expecting more of a scenic view than we got. I booked this trip based on Groupon and it sounded very intriguing so with 3 other folks, planned our trip. I called to book for 4 people and it sounded like the week prior to our actual date of travel would not accomodate more than 2 people together. This would make one assume that the seats were assigned. Needless to say, this was not the case and we had to sit seperate because of how a couple would take 2 seperate benches and face each other. The train left on schedule and we got the coach without the lunch plan. The drinks and snacks at $1 each were very reasonable considering our choices were otherwise non existant. The conductors were very nice and we were informed that they were mostly volunteers. There was however this grumpy guy named Henry who had a chip on his shoulder and deemed that he needed to push his authority around. We were let out of the train at Winslow and most people were thrilled with that. We were to follow certain rules as to stay on the left side and not get on the tracks which everyone abided by. He made a big fuss about it and made it ruin everyone's adventure. Gary and Stu were very friendly and informative, while maintaining safety and standards. The scenery was ok, although since it was mid February the trees were brown. We did get to see a black bear and a couple of cows. The trusses, bridges, creeks and tunnel were neat, but ultimately the adventure wasn't very breathtaking as anticipated. I hadn't been on a train in a long time so this reminded me why. The seats were semi-comfortable, if you didn't get the busted springs that lost its cushioning. It had ceiling fans and windows for ventilation. The box lunch meal consisted of cheese, ham and fruit for $12, which in my opinion was not worth it. 1st class did have air-conditioning and box lunch food, for $78 vs $44. The sound system was horrendous and we could not understand most of what the conductor was saying because it was garbled. I don't think I would come on here again even during the foliage season.

It offers a spacious lobby area with restrooms,…read moreand upstairs area that can be used for meetings, a balcony area overlooking the main floor of the theater, as well as a main floor auditorium with seats for several hundred and a nice size stage for programs. I have used the art center, and the Opera House for several functions. Each of these has been a wonderful success with guests enjoying the comfort and convenience of the venue, including spacious parking options available close to the theater. The stage is great to use for presentations, concerts, and plays, etc.
