This is a big church so I had my doubts going into the parking lot. I saw mini tram vehicles…read morepicking up people around the parking lot and thought I was going to an amusement park, but I was trying to keep an open mind. There were groups of people welcoming folks to enjoy coffee, muffins, information cards for small groups, ministry and multi-generational families meeting in seating areas. I was a bit overwhelmed by it all in a good way. The worship was great but what was even more awesome was seeing a bunch of people getting baptized up front and on the screen during the songs. Each time someone came up from the water there was cheering and singing. It gave me such joy for them! Praise God! The message was great and I filled out a newbie card. Someone called me the very next day to welcome me and tell me about ways I could plug in. The options are endless and there is definitely something for everyone. I took some pictures of what is going on in the next week as an example of the activities I saw posted. The church is a hub for this community providing food, clothing, legal advice, etc. It is really a great resource. I think you should give it a chance. While it is a large church, you can be known as a part of the body of Christ. It is a matter of finding where you fit. I will have to try out the small groups and edit my review on those opportunities for you guys later. For now, I say jump in and know Jesus is here waiting for you. Just show up.

I have also met the most beautiful friends through my small group. I look forward to attending every Sunday!

My family and I attended Dream City Church - Glendale for a period of time and initially had a very…read morepositive impression. The environment was welcoming, and our kids became heavily involved in several of the church programs. At first, we truly believed we had found the right church home for our family. Unfortunately, after our family experienced a very serious and personal situation involving one of our children, we reached out to the church seeking support and guidance. During that difficult time, we hoped for some level of care, follow-up, or even a simple check-in from someone within the church community. Sadly, we did not receive any response or outreach from church leadership or members. I even met personally with the pastor at one point and shared that we were hoping to find a church that would stand beside families not only during good times but also during difficult seasons. When we later reached out asking if the church could simply provide a letter acknowledging our family's absence due to the situation affecting us, we again received no response or support. Another disappointment was that after signing up for various church programs, the primary communication we received consisted mostly of promotional emails encouraging purchases or sign-ups, rather than meaningful engagement or community support. This experience has been very disheartening for our family. While we appreciated the involvement our kids had early on, we ultimately feel that the church did not stand by the values of community and care that it promotes. Because of this, our family has made the difficult decision to stop attending and will be searching for a church that more closely reflects the support, compassion, and accountability that we believe a church community should provide. I sincerely hope that in the future the church places greater emphasis on following up with families who reach out for help during difficult times.

We have learned more from him than we have from any other Catholic Church we have ever attended. He doesn't "speak down" to his congregation as I have seen other priests do in the past, but instead talks to us. He isn't afraid to hold tough conversations and has brought about a welcoming experience for all ages.

I, along with many, find him quite opinionated. I have responded to emails with questions or concerns, but not once have I ever received a response. It feels like Father John is trying to compete with other Christian churches (CCV?) and possibly even change STM. I have a problem with big, professional music groups being paid. I questioned if all musicians were registered STM members and never heard back. Let's not forget our roots and the beautiful songs that have meaning to most of us. The modern is great but alot of us miss the old stuff. We should not move so far away from those. Father John proclaims from the alter that he is here for us- the people. But when asked if he could spare 15-20 minutes to meet, he blatantly states he does not do that. What priest does not have time for his parishioners?!! I find his emails to the congregation lacking in love, understanding and softness. It seems Father John has changed (ego?) since he was giving full authority over St Thomas More. Starting to church shop again.....
