Did you come to Yelp to identify your next place of worship? Well, this is 2015 so why not. Temple Beth Abraham is nothing short of wonderful. This marvelous community is warm, accepting, active and encouraging. Friday night Shabbat services are musical, kid-friendly and they keep you involved for the sweet hour. Rabbi Bloom has a warm heart and a strong passion for his community and practice.
Now, I've really only attended services over the past year enough times to count on one hand, but each time I did, I felt like everyone accepted me and wanted to get to know me. People like to linger after services to chat. On Saturday services, they offer a free lunch to get to know more community members. Every Saturday. Free food. Who wouldn't want this??? People truly want to get to know you.
My fiancé knows the congregation better than I do as he did his conversion here the past year, under Rabbi Bloom's wing. He enjoyed the classes, learning Hebrew, attending services, and participating. He has much energy and enthusiasm singing along the prayer chants with the Rabbi. It's been a positive experience for him.
So, who is this community good for? Family-driven individuals, whether on their third kid or a couple that wants to have a kid sometime down the line. If you don't like children, this may not be the place for you. But, if you are single, this community is a great fit, too. We're an engaged couple in our 30s and it seems like a charming fit to grow into for us when we expand. read more
