Easy in and out at this one. Found the MTG card wall. Had a friendly conversation with the man that checked me out. Everything was easy to find, really cool store with lots of variety. Pretty sure my packs were retail priced, so thanks for that one :) (Not as common down in St Louis, but I don't blame the LGS...I would do the same but I won't get started on that) I'll be back for more :) Pricing was right in line with no issues there. Pricier MTG precons were right in line with TCG Market so that's aweome. I didn't come in with any big tickets in mind, so didn't effect me :) I'll be back :) Oh and I didn't pull any fire this time, but got some good staples :) It's about the visit anyways. read more

I checked this place out on a Friday evening, usual time for a place like this to be busy. It was very busy. I didn't walk more than a few steps before I was greeted and asked if I needed anything. I roamed for a few minutes. The owner, Rich came back to see if he could help. I let him know that I wanted to check out the mini's action, as I have never tried it before. I walked over to the Warhammer tables. I stalked the tables for a few minutes and the players talked to me about their game. In an hour, they were telling me how to play and asking me questions. The store has a great supply of times, ranging from CCG's to war games to board games. Lots of space to play and trade with other gamers. These guys made an out of towner feel right at home. An incredible selection of board and card games. These aren't the games you'll find at Target or Toys 'R Us. If it's popular on BoardGameGeek.com then owner Rich probably stocks it. You can probably find these games cheaper on-line, but Tempest Games is a great way to find new games and new additions to games you already own. I happily give Rich my business to keep a needed place like this in town. read more

Great game shop. Best in the area I'd say.. less than a minute after we walked in we were greeted and got a lot of great help from the manager after he learned that we were new to the game world outside of consoles. Clean, lots of stuff, and a great atmosphere! read more

Do you like your game stores dirty? Great at Tempest the word vacuum is a cuss word and at anytime during the day there will be overflowing trashcans and errant bags of trash everywhere... How about crying babies? Its a little known fact that Tempest games is actually a daycare so while you are trying to concentrate on your game of Magic they'll up the pressure with the babies screaming in your ear! All in all this is a fine shop the majority of the people who hang out there are amazing. Tempest games falls down in the ownership and management. It seems like the owner, RIch, it too busy trying to suck every last dime out of his patrons to show much pride in his shop. I would assume he is to lazy or just doesn't care when it comes to the cleanliness and atmosphere of the gamestore. Additionally of all the time I have played there he seems to show little if any actual interest in gaming or supporting the community. Some gamestore owners are truly only trying to make a buck. Overall the people make this shop, dont go for the product there are better places in town to buy your stuff, go for the people. read more
