I do not say this lightly. Tsunami Sushi has the best lunch deal in Utah…read more The Combo Lunch Box for $15.99 is absurd value. You choose 2 full items from a legit list. Shrimp tempura. Chicken or salmon teriyaki. Spicy tuna roll. California roll. Even sashimi. This is not a stripped down sampler. It is real portions, real quality, real sushi. The fish is clean and fresh. Rice is seasoned correctly, not dry, not overly sweet. Tempura is crisp, not greasy. Teriyaki is balanced, not drowned in sugar sauce. Everything tastes intentional. Here is the math. Fast food today is easily $13 to $15. You get processed meat, fries, and feel sluggish after. For basically the same price, Tsunami gives you high quality protein, balanced carbs, and food that actually feels good after you eat it. This is not just "good for the price." It is just awesome!

The miso soup literally tasted like water -- basically you get charged $3.99 for a small bowl of water. The rolls were bad, falling apart, and tiny. This place used to be so great, and now it's just a bad vibe. For how much we paid (~$125 including tip for two people), you can get MUCH better quality sushi than this. Don't come here and waste your money.

Came in for dinner with a party of four and had a great experience overall. We ordered the crispy fried calamari, pork gyozas, and five rolls: the Tsunami, the Spicy Masa, the Vegas, the Jenny, and the Cobacabana. My favorite by a good margin was the Spicy Masa. The habanero sauce is spicy-delicious, with real heat but enough flavor that you keep going back for another bite. The Vegas and Tsunami rolls are crowd-pleasers, and the pork gyozas are a solid starter to share. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal, no complaints there. The atmosphere is where I'd push them to level up. The decor is simple and modern, which is fine, but it doesn't create much of a mood, and the dining room gets loud fast. If you're hoping for a quiet, intimate dinner, this probably isn't the spot. For a casual night out with friends or family, though, the energy works. One tip: get a reservation, especially on weekends. Walk-ins can be rough. We skipped drinks and dessert and still landed at around $165, so it's not a cheap night out, but the quality justified the price.

My favorites are the mussel shooters, popcorn shrimp and shisito peppers. It has a lively vibe and works well for a quick, casual visit. While it's not my go-to for a full sushi dinner, it's a reliable pre-movie stop with tasty apps and drinks.

We started with the Kimchee Style Cucumbers and Char Grilled Shishito Peppers which were tasty. I got the salmon belly nigiri and fire breathing dragon roll which were both so fresh. We asked for hot lemon water and they came out with a teapot of hot water and a small plate of lemons. This spot is in a plaza so plenty of parking.

Sushi, Gyoza, and Tempura, Oh My! A Tsunami of Flavor in South Jordan…read more If you're ever looking for a meal that's so good it makes you question your life choices (like why you didn't order more), Tsunami in South Jordan, Utah, is the place to go. My taste buds had a wild ride, and frankly, I'm not sure they've recovered yet. Let's start with the gyoza, which was as close to perfection as I've ever seen. These dumplings were practically holding a therapy session on my plate, saying, "It's okay, you don't need to share us." Crispy on the bottom, tender on the top, and served with a dipping sauce that I can only assume was brewed from the tears of angels. Next, we moved on to the sushi, which could only be described as the sushi equivalent of a red carpet event. The roll looked so perfect I almost felt bad eating it... almost. But then, I took a bite, and all those feelings of guilt went out the window. This sushi roll had layers of flavor that unraveled like a plot twist in a telenovela. Now, onto the tempura. You know how sometimes you get tempura and it's just a greasy mess? Not here. The tempura was light, crispy, and had the kind of crunch that makes you feel like you're in a satisfying ASMR video. I felt like a food critic from a fancy magazine as I dipped each piece into the sauce, which was so good I'm convinced it has magical properties. Overall, Tsunami is the kind of place that leaves you full but also slightly panicked because you realize you have to wait until the next visit to experience this level of food-induced happiness again. So, if you find yourself in South Jordan and have an appetite for deliciousness, don't miss out on this culinary wave of awesomeness. Just be prepared to get hooked, because one visit won't be enough! Had it not been for Natasha our experience would have been subpar Tsunami is Lucky to have her.
