Excellent experience - I highly recommend ordering a full or half cow from Travis and his team…read more From start to finish, Travis was super responsive on email and the process was so easy. I had the meat in about a month for a half cow portion, which is so much faster than other farms I've purchased from. Their butcher was spot-on as well. Los Molinos Meats walked me through the cut list, asking preference questions along the way. I was intimidated by having to provide a cut list, but they guide you through it pretty quickly on the phone. Pick up took less than 10 minutes (after the 2 hr drive lol). If you're on the fence, go for it! The prices are completely reasonable and the meat is so tender and just damn tasty!

I've been thinking about getting a whole cow for a long time. Because of the way beef prices have…read morebeen going up. So I started to do a little research, and I came across tx bar, Grassfed Cattle Company. They weren't the first place that I found. I actually found several other places at Bove online and offline. Did my research check my prices and check reviews and everything else? And I decided to reach out to Travis. He answered all in the questions without any Negative feedback whatsoever, no pushy, no sales talk or anything like that, he was open. He was honest, his pricing was fair. He gave me the complete breakdown of how much of whole cow compared to a 1/2 cow. Compared to the processing fee, and there were several ranchers that were a lot closer to me Because i'm right here in sacramento and they are a two and a half hour drive away. But can't beat his prices can't beat his customer service and right now I honestly could say i've bought two cows from this company yes, I have a big family. But I also just like beef, and I like steak and I'm on the carnivore diet. So I like eating meat but I didn't go with the company, Based on just the reviews, honestly, I went to the company. Based on my interactions with Travis and like I said he was honest he was fair. He answered all my questions without hesitation. And he made things easy. If I had any concerns, he put em to rest even all the way up to the day of harvest. Now I'll talk a little bit about the meat. The meat is extremely good. It's like I want to say fresh. But heck, it's fresh, it's fresh from the cow fresh and processor processed it perfectly. For me and it's like we made our first couple roasts and it's like I will honestly say it's better than any beef that I've ever bought from the store. Definitely. We'll be buying from them again. Maybe not in the next year or so since i did get two cows. I got more meat that allows me a year or so, but I'm pretty sure within the next year and a half. I will probably be looking again because I know my kids are gonna be taking some of the meat home with them But I definitely would recommend Travis and his family to all my family and friends and in fact, I already have, and I think 3 or 4 of them actually already bought their own whole cows. So definitely if you're looking to buy a whole cow. And you wanna save money on your beef. Definitely. Look up. TX Bar Grassfed Cattle Company and send them a message they respond fast not days or weeks. Also I almost forgot. You can also be on-site on your harvest day. If you wish to take certain sections of the cow that the butcher processor won't bring back to the shop. Because of certain reasons. If you want those items, you just need to let Travis know. And he'll let you know around the time that your cow would be harvested on that day. And you can be there to collect those items on-site. So you can also watch the process.I'm assuming too, me myself and I didn't do it.But you know, that's long drive. So wasn't like really looking to do a two and a half hour. One way drived in two and a half hour back. But AAA++

I ended up taking a couple pints home, one of the homemade Baked Beans and another of Potato Salad. The beans had nice size chunks of bacon, plus they threw some black beans into the mix. The added color really set it off. The Potato Salad was also amazing. I'm a sandwich guy, so I had to go back and try one of the sandwiches. Tri-Tip it was. I had it cold. What a meal. Nice thick layer of meat. But it was sliced thin, deli style. It was cooked perfect. Still red and juicy, tender. It was one of those sandwiches where the meat was thicker than the bread. That's what I'm talking about!! If you give me a sandwich with more bread than meat. That'll probably be the last time you see me. The veggies were fresh. Lettuce was crispy and the red onion almost made my eyes water. Loved it. I got a side of the Hot BBQ sauce to go with it. That was a treat too. Got it with a pint of Coleslaw. Nice big pieces of cabbage. The dressing for the slaw was dead on. All in all. Well worth the trip in. Prices are good. You won't be disappointed. Service is good. Everyone is nice and always smiling. What else can you ask for. I'll be going back every chance I get.

My husband was given a call before hand to go over how he would like it butchered. They were very thorough. A few weeks later they called again to let us know we could pick it up. Pick up was easy. Packaging was perfect. Everything stacked nicely into our garage freezer. 5 stars.

I've written a lot of reviews for George ever since I found him around 9-10 years ago. I hadn't…read morebought from him in a while, but have been wanting to. In February, I reached out about 1/4 of a cow and while I didn't directly buy from him he pointed me to Crosby Cattle Co. (based out of Fernley, but looks like he is opening his own shop in Reno soon!). George felt this rancher had amazing meat and since he was closer to me than George I utilized him. The owner, Alec, was easy to work with and delivered my 1/4 of cow for free. I haven't had to buy beef at the grocery store since February and we still have, about 2/3s of the meat left. The beef is so good! George was very interested in my opinion. Alec has a 100% satisfaction, basically if I wasn't extremely happy, he would fix it, but so far so good. Recently saw George had 1/2 a pork share available, so I reached out and bought that. Back in the day George came to Reno area a lot and so he would deliver it, but he didn't have any trips planned and so I made the drive to Quincy to his shop to pick up. It wasn't bad at all. It was so nice to talk to George, on social media he will answer any and all questions you have about the slaughtering process, after death, storage, whatever you want. When I picked up the pork I asked how he sells meat when he doesn't own the animals himself. He said when they go to farms, they look at how the animal (pig, cow, lamb etc) is raised, where it lives, the food it gets and makes decisions on buying that way so you know you're getting the best of the best when you buy from him. George is a soft spoken, gentle guy, I was impressed he even remember my old dog when he used to drop off my delivers from 8 years ago. I know its not feasible for a lot of people, but buying local, buying more humanely raised animals for meat, knowing when it was killed it wasn't trucked miles and stressed out, understanding where our food comes from a bit more, is important to me. George posts the animals he kills on his social media and people seem to get upset, but the fact is, its good to remember that that rib eye steak, was an animal once and doesn't just magically create itself onto the styrofoam platter at the grocery store. One of my goals over the last few years is being more mindful of my food, eating less meat, but more quality meat when I do eat it. If you're interested at all, George knows ranches, even if you don't buy from him he can point you in the right direction, he will answer all questions, and also he has seriously AMAZING price points. If you can swing it, I promise you won't be disappointed. Lastly, I did a side by side blind taste test with my pork from George and pork chop from Costco, the pork chop from George won, obviously, but also it easy to see how much more moist and flavorful that pork was to the costco pork chop. Its hard to post links here so if interested, dm me and I'll point you in the right direction to follow and contact him. I believe his website is linked though and should take you to his social medias where he posts the meat he has regularly.
