I contacted them on a Wednesday and they were out by Friday afternoon. I wanted my driveway pressure washed before the holidays. Poorboy offered the most competitive pricing by far. Poorboy arrived and conducted themselves most professionally. It was slated for an hour to complete the job. However, they were done well before the hour. Was that it? No. While chatting with the Poorboy crew, the subject of fencing came up. They noticed my gate was a bit askew. And it most definitely was; the gate has been sagging (I did not know that this was the term) for years. The Poorboy crew mentioned that they could fix that. I thought that was spectacular that they offered. I assumed that they would need to make an appointment and come back. But, I was happily surprised again. They offered to, if I purchased the parts, they would repair the sag. They told me what was needed. I picked up the parts. They returned later in the day and corrected the sag in the gate. I greatly appreciate everything that Poorboy was able to do for me. I would hire them again for anything that they could do for me.

Ridiculous one sided contract, overpriced monitoring, high pressure sales and in my case extortion…read more I bought a home over two years ago that had a perfectly good alarm system already installed. When I recently contacted Alert Alarm (they had monitored the house for the previous owner) they were happy to talk and showed up unannounced the next day and began messing with my system while I read through a very one sided three year contract with automatic one year renewals at what seemed to be a high monthly price. I wouldn't sign and checked around. Apparently there are several national companies willing to do the same monitoring job for one quarter the price and without any contract. Once I informed them that I was going with someone else and asked them to release or transfer my cell modem to my new monitoring company, nobody at Alert Alarm seemed to know how to do that. Finally after several days and numerous calls their salesman called me back and tells me the owner is willing to release my cell modem for $200. Just to be clear it's my equipment, I owe them nothing but they will try to hold my modem hostage.
